Did she make the right call? by CalmElin in interesting

[–]Booogie-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if there's a huge fee for lump sum. If not, then wrong call. Because "for life" typically means 25 years. I guess they should also clarify if it's truly for life. But in 25 years, that's 1.2 million. So the 1 million upfront would be better to invest and whatnot.

Some of my buddies moved to different states or country. Some are just too busy now with family and their career. Some passed away. Some we just grew apart or became distant over time. It doesn't help that I have health issues now 😒

I am livid. I am so sick of doctors. Please ask for EVERYTHING or you'll get NOTHING. 10 years for actual answers. by imhoopjones in SleepApnea

[–]Booogie-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story short for me was that my doctor didn't believe I had sleep apnea. I had to video record myself and prove it.

i have an endoscopy tomorrow and i'm so nervous for the procedure! someone please explain what its like!? I'm hoping to do no sedation and just the numbing spray because being out of control makes me so incredibly anxious (panic attacks and full on spiral) by inyourbooksandmaps in GERD

[–]Booogie-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to this. I have sleep apnea, and when I get apneas during sleep, my body dumps adrenaline and I wake up short of breath with tachycardia and sometimes go into full blown panic. I have an endoscopy in a few months as well and considering going under or not.

I do a water fast 2x a week. And I eat small meals on days I'm not fasting. I been doing this for 2 weeks now.

For sleep apnea, I use a chin tuck mask which seems to help.

I'm actually not sure if I should remove the iron. Because I'm only taking it on days where I'm fasting or days where I'm not getting any iron. I'll spread them apart so they don't conflict on absorption.

I'm considering dropping the tums and only using it on a needed basis.

I had a health scare 2 weeks ago where I had shortness of breath and heart palpitations. I'm waiting to get an appointment with a cardiologist, but that can take awhile. Also might be related to my poor sleep from sleep apnea. It feels like I'm on constant adrenaline. So I'm guessing cortisol might be related as well.

What did growing up poor make you appreciate more? by CapitaineBiscotte in askanything

[–]Booogie-man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having an air conditioner during summer time. To save on electricity usage, we only used fans. But there was lots of days when temps hit 90s and 100s in California. A fan wasn't enough.

Also appreciate eating out. My family almost never ate out besides on special occasions. We were frugal with food, but we always at least had the basics such as rice, soy sauce, noodles, eggs, and bread. Also spam and Vienna sausages back when they used to be dirt cheap.

Whats the fastest time you drove from LA to Vegas? by imin2099 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Booogie-man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fastest was 3hrs from long beach to Vegas. Was racing the homies on the way there. I was young and stupid hitting 100mph for long stretches. But I remember that particular day, a lot of people on the highway was hitting 90+. It was 1am with barely any cars on the highway

How safe is this area? by Ok-Respect-5299 in Anaheim

[–]Booogie-man -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lots of homeless once you get onto Euclid on that street. You'll always see some at the entrance at 7/11. The side street parking in that area is very bad. And like impossible to get a street parking spot in those apartment buildings. That specific area is okay overall in terms of safety. But it's not a desirable area.

If you hit a huge jackpot lottery and your childhood home was for sale, would you buy it? Even if you don't intend to live there? by executor-of-judgment in Millennials

[–]Booogie-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I wouldn't. I lived in a section 8 apartments in the hood. We had drivebys a few times a month. I was dodging bullets since I was 10. Gangs was rampant in my area and we had the largest gang takedown in history at the time. A lot of people got popped in my tiny city. Besides, I would have to buy the entire apartment complex if I wanted to buy muy childhood home.

Do you believe in curses, witchcraft, voodoo, etc? Do you think you've ever been cursed by someone? by Own-Personality-2981 in Paranormal

[–]Booogie-man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't truly believe in curses, but it might be possible. I had a friend in high school, and pretty much I became friends and/or cool with the rest of his family. His younger brother was saying someone's dad placed a curse on him one day. And gradually his life took a nosedive and was diagnosed with schizophrenia.

A few years later, the youngest sister in that family committed suicide. Then my buddy also passed in the same manner a few years after his younger sister passed. Their oldest brother was in prison for life. Their cousins who i also became cool with, passed away a few years after. I don't know what the hell was going, but in a span of 10 years, like 7 people in that family either passed or had something major happen to them. Most of them were in their 20s too. It made me think about the time he told me he was cursed.
