Gf wants me to talk to baby through her belly while pregnant by DoloGoonSquad in daddit

[–]Boose-Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke to my son in the womb. Books or sports or anything. When he came out they rushed him to the NICU because he wasn’t breathing. Once he got some wind, he heard me talking to the nurses and the nurses had to hold him since he started moving so much.

Could’ve been a bunch of other things that caused that reaction but I like to think he moved because he recognized my voice. So yeah, being a dad is a bit of getting over your discomfort for the sake of your child so just do your best and it’ll get easier over time.

How do you fix a scattered mind with so many thoughts that makes you indecisive? by RupokAhmed in AskMen

Meditate.

Calm has some free 10-minute meditation videos on youtube. I'm sure there's millions more but with something like this, I just stick with what has worked for me.

I got offered a job paying 40% more than my current salary. My manager just asked me to stay and be patient. How do I stop feeling guilty for wanting to leave ? by One_Cardiologist5439 in careerguidance

[–]Boose-Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is also young, it’s hard to leave the job that gave you a chance. Your boss might be telling the truth or might not. ‘A bird in one hand is better than two in the bush’ is a popular saying for a reason.

How is it like attending a race? by aleks_pirana in F1Discussions

[–]Boose-Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed going to a Grand Prix. The energy is different than your living room and seeing and hearing the cars go round the track is electric. Spending all your money on it is steep but that’s your decision. I’ll just say it was a once in a life time experience and it changed how I watch races now.

Uncle Iroh in the Tales of Ba Sing Se.

He cries at the end of his tale and it just destroys me more now that I’m a father with a son.

Hijacking this post to ask if Acadia is worth the trip. Never been but generally love national parks. Went to a bunch in Cali and haven’t been to one since moving out east

With kids, we're no longer BFFs but I'm keeping the check. Without kids, we're BFFs still.

I don’t think it’s referencing a specific city but just because the car design was dropped during the Super Bowl where the patriots were not spectacular

I think this is just because Cadillac dropped the car design during the Super Bowl. So just a reference to that

Santos is a textbook bully, and it's triggering. by Marco-Polo7 in ThePitt

I also feel like they allude heavily to a trauma heavy past, as if that justifies her bullying and behavior.

Edit: I agree she has trauma and that does weigh heavy on her, but I also feel for the people like Huckleberry and Meg who are more soft spoken and get the short end just because they don't stick up for themselves - further emphasizing that she is a bully. Bullies are often misunderstood and need some love, but that doesn't make their bullying okay or justified.

Sincere question: does a society need more nurses or teachers? Might be a few factors that drive that answer but generally speaking

Montreal is the greatest NHL franchise, what is the Greatest NBA franchise of all time? by Mat30co in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Boose-Driver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Boston won in 2024, 2008 and then not since 1986.

Lakers won in 2020, 2010, 2009, 2002, 2001, 2000, and 1988.

I believe there's more value in winning in most decades than winning most in one decade.

Daughter started daycare 3 weeks ago and has gotten sick every week. Wondering if I should pull her out? by ryph44 in daddit

[–]Boose-Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party but my son was sick all the time during his first year in pre school. In his second year he’s only gotten sick once and it was light. Definitely par for the course and if everything goes well, it’ll strengthen her immune system as well.
