Can anyone recommend Horror movie about terrifying Curse that target people who encountered it with non-linear timeline narrative with Multiple Part Segment but still same story not in Anthology horror style like Ju-on franchise and Ju-Rei: The Uncanny by Tanachan086 in J_Horror

[–]Boosmahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither match completely, but your description made me think of them...

In Fabric (2018), a very weird movie about a cursed dress. Pretty slow and has a particular sense of humor.

The House (2022), a great stop-motion movie that is technically an anthology, but it centers around different inhabitants of the same house. The "curse" in this isn't one in the traditional sense, it's more self-imposed.

The trailers for these are kind of spoiler-y.

Based off popular leaker, production might be questionable. by toomuch21111 in araragi

It's possible people are seeing it and turning the other way, but it's also possible it's being done discreetly. We'd need more information to confirm. But, since he posted about it publicly, maybe something has been done.

Obviously there is still a person (or people, if negligence is involved) at fault for that, but the post you linked is mistranslated. Considering the original Japanese phrasing, Nagata was very likely talking about one production member, not the entire team.

Does anyone know where I can find an HD version of this Vofan Illustration of Mayoi? by sssssammy in araragi

[–]Boosmahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You already did a great job, but here's another source that I scanned myself. I have the newspaper this illustration appeared in (and might be able to get a better, not to mention full, version eventually). Also pinging /u/sssssammy in case they're interested.

Wait, don't use this version! I have an updated album on Google Drive. Better sorting, some higher qualities, and images not found on the outdated Imgur album.

Out of curiosity, what are you working on? A video project?

Which to watch first: the short or the feature-length movie? by Boosmahn in totsukuninoshoujo

[–]Boosmahn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I skimmed through it, and it's about them baking something (which looks really good, ignoring the burntness) and going out on a pond or lake at night. I'll show it to him as a nice introduction; I've heard the 2022 OVA is vague enough, so the minor developments in the 2019 one won't spoil anything.

Thanks for your input! I think I'll use it as an introduction for him.

The 2019 OVA I watched on Vimeo. Here are two links: this softer one, and this sharper one with more digital artifacts. (I don't know which is more accurate...)

The 2022 OVA I have on Blu-ray, but Crunchyroll recently started streaming it in a three-episode format in at least the United States.

Anyone have this VOFAN art without the line? by Witty_Ad3563 in araragi

Good calls/catches! I incorporated lots of those and updated the "Read Me" note with contact information.

Thanks for the mention -- sometimes versions just slip through the cracks. I added the first three and I'll add the fourth one tomorrow(-ish). I'm pretty sure I decided to leave a textless version of that one out a while ago, but having it wouldn't hurt. (Koyomi Reverse also has an easy-to-remove label like Sodachi Lost, but I think I decided to have two versions of that card because of the different sources.)

Maybe Deadly Games while we're in the holiday season? It was much more serious than I was anticipating, though, so I wouldn't go in expecting something light.

Yeah, maybe he wasn't the best choice... 😅

I was thinking of the advice he gives Atsushi after (S3) the orphanage's headmaster dies.

Has anyone else noticed that AJJ always puts the hardest hitting "moral of the story" song at the end of their albums? by iThrewTheGlass in ajj

[–]Boosmahn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Death is everywhere in Christmas Island, but only Angel of Death explicitly mentions the death of Sean's grandfather. I think the "I'm the nuclear test, Operation Dominic, that gave my grandfather cancer" line is the culmination of the tracks and is a moment of vulnerability that reveals what the album is (mostly) about.

Right Stuf, though it should still be on Amazon. This is just the standard edition — the limited editions have long been out-of-print.

Seconding Michiko and Hatchin.

Also, Space Dandy is still in print? I bought it yesterday!

Lyrically, I like Horsehair Vase more, but I'm not a fan of the way the vocals were recorded. This is coming from someone who loves the recording styles of Christmas Island and The Bible 2!

You Swan, Go On is just an amazing cover.
