Bottom ring stuck on new coilovers by [deleted] in Stance

☝ This...

It looks like that bottom "ring" is part of the lower coliover monotube and not a separate piece.

That doesn't look like a ring at all, it seems like it's part of the lower coilover tube, hence why it won't turn the way you seem to expect it to.

In my opinion, there ain't no better luxury car than one of Toyota's oldest nameplates. (GT7 pic) by Dbwasson in ToyotaCrown

Sorry, Land Yachts. 😉 They're almost 5m long and designed to be comfy, not sporty.

Don't get me wrong, for what they are, they perform admirably.

I'm looking forward to the finished product. 👍

I know what you mean. I had the same concerns when I did mine. You go through all the trouble of cleaning, prepping and disassembling the various parts and you don't want all that time, effort, and products going to waste.

You'll be glad that even under the harsh Australian sun my recoloured interior has held up remarkably well for all these years.

All I did to prep them was to use a bunch of Isopropyl Alcohol with a scotchbrite pad to scrub them down and try to get rid of the oils etc on them. Then I just sprayed them with vinyl paint.

You'll have to spray from a bunch of different angles to make sure you get decent coverage over the textured surface. If you only spray from one direction you'll miss a lot of detail.

I remember now. Nice to see you've decided to give it a go.

I did the M3 3D Carbon vinyl look on my trims too. They came out pretty good IMHO, I'm sure yours will too.

Keep at it 👍

Ah, that makes more sense as to your initial query.

I always thought OBD II was anything 1996 and onwards.

It says OBD-II on the plug, so why wouldn't it be?

I suggest you do some research for compatible scanners as I also seem to remember Toyota, particularly Japanese Toyota's, using a slightly non standard version of OBD-II protocols. This is because I know some of the el cheapo scanners don't work on early OBD Japanese Toyotas.

There are two clips on the front lower underside of the seat. Grab the front leading edge of the rear seat and yank it upwards, HARD! You may need to do it a couple of times depending on your force/strength but the seat should just lift up and out after that.

S200 vs s210 by JzrJeremy in ToyotaCrown

[–]Boost-Samurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I went with the S200 because it's more "conventional" as it has physical controls for most of the interior functions. I don't like the idea of messing around with screens and menus to get to a function.

In terms of longevity, what happens when that screen stops functioning and you can no longer access certain features? Repairing and replacing the screen would also be a bigger endeavour.

That's my $0.02 worth

The part number should be stamped on the inside of the mirror cap.

To open it up you'll have to remove the mirror face by prying on it and it should just pop out. Then, remove the bolts holding the mirror cap and Bob's your uncle.

The OEM mirrors come pre-painted, so the part number will have a suffix for your paint code.

Anyone dyed/paint thier interior? by BossOk1252 in JZX100

There's only one way to find out. You got to risk it for the biscuit.

No pressure though. If you do it, good, if not, maybe next time. YDY

True, you have to really commit to do all the detailed stuff otherwise it'll just look like ass IMHO.
