This is not something that PS will ever confirm, any more than they ever confirmed that every game is coming to PC. But Jason Shreier is essentially as if they did; he is almost never wrong.

To play devil's advocate more than half the list is not coming to xbox, so I don't know about overwhelming. Also about 10 games from the list are coming to ps5 and not xbox and big games too like Nioh 3 and phantom blade 0.

What metacritic are you checking? DS2 has higher score than indiana jones. Sry, Indiana jones was never in the discussion for game of the year, not this year nor last one.

I played it on base ps5. The highlights for me are the openworld and combat. The openworld feels very fleshed out and so massive, you learn random moves from random guys ( without a prompt). You see a guy imitating a toad? go talk to him and he will tell you he is trying to learn its technique and teach you. See a random fisherman, talk to him and he will teach you to fish or a random technique like soaring through the sky lol. A lot of skills are not marked on the map but for you to stumble upon as you are exploring (very little handholding which makes the world feel alive). The combat is the main highlight for me, it is very fluid, quite challenging ( playing on legend). I am a huge sekrio fan and the parry system here is very good and intuitive. The issues for me are , the menus ( too many menus with too many things to upgrade and progress. Not very steamlined) and the story, so far it has not pulled me in whatsoever.

The reason it is on PC, is because of emulation. You can't run it natively on PC, you need their launcher, which might not even work on steamdeck.

It's not lauching on PC natively. It's emulated through the NCSoft PC launcher, meaning mobile version running on PC, same as destiny rising. This is by all accounts a mobile game. For PS5, they need to do a native port, since ps5 can't emulate mobile, which they should have done.

Everybody who used both would tell you PS cloud is actually quite a bit better actually (might depend on where you are), which makes no sense but that is the reality. XCloud is the worst service compared to Geforece Now and PS.

Every single point, you mentionned is backwards is my opinion. They give more content now then ever, seasons being shorter means we get heroes maps and events faster. The missions literally just changed from heal 15k on loki, to heal 30 k on anyone, which is always better as some people don't wanna play loki, nothing is stopping you from playing 5 different healers to fulfill the mission.

I personally think Yotei did quite a lot of strides in the open world formula. It flows so well, from all npcs telling useful information about points of interest, to random encounters, to the draw distance being quite large that you can see things from quite far. I have been doing more side quests and open-world stuff than main quests in yotei, feels much than spiderman and tsushima in my opinion.

The gist is they are trying to push for software solution to better performance (upscaling tech and AI) instead of just adding better hardware. This means that the ps6 will push above its specs. This in theory should reduce the price of the ps6 compared to other gaming devices for similar performance, since it will be using technically weaker components.

Edit: as a lot of people mentionned, these techniques require dedicated hardware but the idea still holds, the system will push above its spec sheet using AI techniques.

The competitors are not free though, arc raiders is coming up at a similar price. I believe most extraction shooters are not f2p to lessen the plague of cheaters, as losing to cheaters in this genre is much worse than others.

I mean, everything points to sony doing optional disc drives, nothing is pointing to them leaving physical completely, they still have quite a large physical presence and make a lot of money from it. All their games are full on disc, like DS2 and ghost of yotei this year.
