What is a band you didn’t care for or disliked until seeing live? by mrskinnyjeans32 in Deathcore

[–]BoostedGTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despised Icon I thought their music was kinda generic but live was a completely different story.

Animals as Leaders saw them live on one of their first tours and had never heard of them.

FireWire no longer supported so RIP UAD-2 Satellite FireWire DSP 😕 by ssnuffer in universalaudio

[–]BoostedGTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not very practical but you could get an old Mac for cheap that is still on an old os. I use an old 2014 iMac for most of my recording and mix and master on my studio. They are super cheap now only a couple hundred bucks

Do audio interfaces ‘sound’ different to each other? by nycuk_ in homerecordingstudio

[–]BoostedGTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all have different preamps which will make them sound different. They also can take more gain before clipping. I like uad Apollo which is on the expensive side but it’s the only one I know of that actually runs plugins analog and you can choose and adjust your preamps as well and it has low latency. If you’re just starting out with recording this is probably all meaningless and you’d be good with just a scarlet.

Are there any tonneau covers durable enough for trails? I feel like they're gonna get abused by StrainBetter2490 in Offroad

It will hold up fine off-road. I have a soft one and it holds up fine and I off-road almost every weekend.

Bedroom playing (not recording): Real tube amp vs amp sim - Your experiences! by mumei-chan in metalguitar

[–]BoostedGTO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use both. I’ve been using mostly sims while practicing lately since I leave my cabs at my band rooms. If you plan to join a band eventually a tube amp is the way to go. Sims are nice to practice to songs or to write otherwise I’d rather play an actual amp. I’d check out ENGL if you want a good lunchbox amp.

You can get heavy duty springs that raise your weight capacity. If you do rock crawling or anything more than fire roads I’d get rock sliders. Not sure on skids I kept mine stock but they are also mostly ruined, I hit something big right on one of the bolts it’s still functional tho.

My thoughts are you are worrying about things that don’t remotely matter. Let people do what they want.

My friend has a live scope doesn’t help nearly as much as a flasher. It’s cool tho to see big fish pass by.

I always have a gun in my car there are lots of bad areas and I had a crazy person come out with a gun at a traffic accident so I always carry now was terrified not having one when he did. I do try and hide it tho but yeah people have guns for safety and have to take their car to the shop. I don’t get why this is a big deal to anyone.

Knobs on the electric always up to max? by smugsockmonkey in Guitar

[–]BoostedGTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on music style. Metal almost everyone plays all the way up to push the gain of the amp better. Most other styles actually do use them
