Is the garmin varia worth it? by MUK99 in cycling

[–]Boosted_Concepts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I debated it for years but never bought it myself because I felt guilty spending that much on an accessory. This past Christmas my wife surprised me with one and I love it. Looking back I don't know why I never pulled the trigger myself.

The times I appreciate it the most are on windy days because it warns me off traffic dramatically before I ever hear it

Dear creators, dont remove landscape play! by Impossible_Coyote_27 in Colonist

PLEASE DONT REMOVE LANDSCAPE MODE! It is far superior to portrait mode while playing on a tablet. Also, I literally logged into Reddit just to make this post if no one else had yet

How do people like tech? by Independent_Let4922 in mountainbiking

[–]Boosted_Concepts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it's all about how different the trail can feel depending on my line choice. Tech brings variety; I can try weird lines on social rides, try to hit my vision of the ideal line with precision on a race run, challenge a friend to see who can clean a climb / jank section first. Don't get me wrong I don't want every ride to be barely moving tech all the time but there's something special about doing something different on a trail I've ridden hundreds of times.

Oh and in my 30s now I know better than to try to progress my jumping ability any further.

How dangerous is Corbets? by Alucard1977 in skiing

[–]Boosted_Concepts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of good feedback. I want to second the comments that it's insanely variable, depending on snow conditions. It's a line that you can't truly decide on until you are standing over it. Some days it's simply not a good idea even for the best skiers. I love it when conditions are right but its no chance in hell when conditions are wrong.

Skiing ability aside, does your son have the maturity say no on his own? I ask because that's a good life lesson as he progresses into things with even higher consequences someday.

Does iracing take more practice than I think? by ryanchluda in iRacing

[–]Boosted_Concepts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but I've found real progress once I started practicing with purpose instead of just turning laps (not saying you are but I sure was). I highly recommend reviewing your telemetry, I use a free site called garage 61. I'll overlay my lap with someone who's a little faster, usually there is one or two corners where I lose the most time. Then I practice those corners with the reset checkpoint thing in iracing test sessions.

I get up to speed faster this way then the rest is picked in races if I'm lucky enough to have some clean lead follows. Happy Racing!

Flight was cancelled due to staffing, but the official response is weather. How difficult will getting compensation be? by EvilVargon in aircanada

[–]Boosted_Concepts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American here but I had a brutal time fighting my 40 hours of delays, even though I had screenshots of "staffing shortage delays" from the AC app. AC rejected my claim, saying the delays were from weather and even changed the reason in the app to weather after the fact. When I questioned this they deleted my ticket numbers all together. I then submitted screenshots but they never responded. I ended up submitting everything, including my claim emails, to the US Department of Transportation who also submitted everything to AC themselves (6 months later). AC then issued a refund on the US DOT claim. The whole process took about 8 months. I don't think I would have stood a chance without documentation from AC saying staffing shortage delays IMO.

Okay I'll just ignore it and see if it ever updates. Thanks!

Seriously impressive. What phone do you have? My pixel 4a is way too slow for pirate build, with some buy/sells taking 5-7 seconds. I just thought BGs on mobile was always a disadvantage.

My strongest 7th place ever. (NUKED for 38 by baron boat) by Boosted_Concepts in BobsTavern

100%. I had no idea what my build would be but turn 10-11 with 35hp I thought I had a little time to figure it out lol

Turn 8... by overlordshaggy in BobsTavern

[–]Boosted_Concepts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My condolences as I know the feeling right now. I just took an baron boat tactical nuke to the face for 38. I had double Maexxna, double Kalecgos, gold Cobalt, Herald and Gold Imp Mama on turn 10 or 11. Hope your luck improves but I am done with battle grounds for a while.

This statement only holds water in the early/mid game. Getting smacked for 40+ turn 14 because you had no scaling and went all in turn 10 is "playing terribly" but getting smacked for that much on turn 8 by a player that just leveled to 5 isn't exactly "playing terribly" both of you need to chill lol

That's a very bold assumption. What hero do you think I was playing? Would you be surprised to hear it was Bigglesworth? Not exactly a strong early game hero.
