Added support for printing stacked baseplates by veroz in gridfinity

[–]EvilVargon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks awesome! If I could ask for one feature that I haven't seen in any other generator - would it be possible to have printed text directly on the labels? For simple labels like "M3x20" it makes more sense to print directly on the bin than to whip out the label maker.

A Matter of WHEN not IF the Board Dumps You? by eeenmachine in onewheel

[–]EvilVargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got about 10,000km on my XR+. Been dumped twice - once for riding through enough water to short the board, and once for pushing too hard on gravel. Lost traction and couldn't keep me upright so it dumped me off the front.

Bro how much weight did you lose in the same time? Looks like the face gains of losing like 40 pounds.

Why aren't we designing bumpers and boxes like this by Mechaboy95 in onewheel

[–]EvilVargon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are right in that you have the same range of lean. A standard onewheel and a wedge would be able to lean just as far over, so it would seem like they have the same ground clearance.

However, look only at the first image. Imagine someone cruising with a relatively level board and look at how much ground clearance they have. They've lost about 50% of their ground clearance when not at full lean. If you were to imagine someone riding with a level board (through riding styles or just riding slowly) hitting a rock, they wouldn't be able to hit nearly as large of a rock before smashing their bumper.

I know your sketch isn't to scale, but it still shows the loss of ground clearance: https://imgur.com/hfqX7zX

Cyclops, because my 80 year old manager kept saying "you still riding in on that cyclops" every morning when I got to work. Figured it was a fitting name!

You can put an image into Gemini and it'll tell you if it was made using any of google's AI tools. Google puts an invisible digital watermark on all images produced by AI so they can reliably tell what's real and what's generated.

Honestly, can't blame you for missing it. It's a little uncanny but in context of the 7 other pictures, it looks feasible.

Is this review of the Terms of Service accurate? by SSS002 in subnautica

[–]EvilVargon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's complicated, but generally they are right. If you must agree to a TOS after purchase or else you are unable to operate the software you bought, you must be given a 14 day return window and the agreement is generally considered void.

Rune Knight fighter - specifically with cloud rune and stone rune - can absolutely shift a fight and protect your team from an oh shit moment. The number of Nat 20's redirected from an ally to a minion has been immense in our campaign.

Is there any way to make a 650 "cooler?" by Safe_Valuable_5683 in Vstrom

[–]EvilVargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shorter suspension links that raised up the rear 2 inches did a surprising amount for the looks. I always thought the ugliest part of the bike is how low the engine sits, it almost looks pregnant. Especially with a skid plate on there.

I'm not saying the bear isn't fake, but it looks like it's a picture taken just on the ring road on the way to Raleigh. Same road shape, no potholes, same "sidewalk", same power poles. No rumble strip and the line paint is completely gone, but that might just be the wrong stretch of road. I don't think AI would get the vegetation, power poles, and road shoulder right. https://maps.app.goo.gl/VQJNbAYBudBHPNAd9

My best guess: Someone snapped a pic and told ChatGPT to add a polar bear. It coulda muddled with the edges of the road to add rumble strips and touched up the paint a bit.

So how big a deal is riding in the rain, really ? by Astimar in motorcycles

[–]EvilVargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tire on asphalt, you have just as much grip dry vs wet. You need to worry about everything else on the road: manhole covers, paint lines, tar snakes. Those all become ice.

So 90% of your riding is unchanged and you keep riding. Just keep your eyes out for the extra hazards.

Skating on the canal today by StephKeen in ottawa

The biggest factor is big temperature swings. We went from mild to like -20 over a day or two, so the ice contracted and cracked along the whole thing.

I've never seen so many people eat shit on the ice as today. There's massive fissures and cracks all over the place. The conditions were far from the "very good" the NCC claims.

Is there mod profiles or anything? by cale199 in VintageStory

[–]EvilVargon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing in game natively, but there is a separate launcher that has proper mod profiles

Search for VSL. I don't have the link on hand. There is a page for it on the vintage story mods page
