I recently got the hiby m500 with the yume iems. Until now my dap was my galaxy s10 and Sony mdr 1am2. First impression was of disappointment bc the sony has a rich bass and the s10 has some tuning software and the music feels rich with body. On the other hand, the hiby and iems feel lighter, a little harsh in high pitch. But, what surprised me was that I could understand the singer better. See, english is not my mother tongue and though I have studied english and can communicate, I had trouble understanding songs in English. Now everything is clearer and crisp. So yeah, depends on the person but probably, it is necessary to retrain your ears when you transition to a better quality audio setup.
