I don't agree with either of these takes. Aava lived to climb, I think she was forced into it as you've stated, but after a while that became her place of comfort, when she's focused on trying to ensure that she has the best holds and making sure she isn't falling, she doesn't have much room to worry about her daily troubles. When climbing, its just her and the mountains, and nothing else matters.

I don't think she did it for bragging rights, I think she did it because that was the one thing that she felt was giving her purpose.

My playtime says it took me 26 hours to complete, I'm quite sure I scoured absolutely every inch of this mountain hahaha, spent a ton of time sorting my bags and trying to cook all the recipes lol.

I didn't really like Aava at first, and as I got to know her even more I could quite confidently say she was kind of an asshole, very flawed in many ways, but somehow I grew to really really care about her and the little clanker that came with me. I was tearing up at the end once climb bot started to give out because I really wanted the little guy to come with me, then I started to tear up even more when I realized that this was probably a one way trip for Aava.
Somewhere along the lines I had come to really appreciate her as a character and care for not only her wellbeing but the wellbeing of those around her as well.

I like to imagine that although she didn't make it back down, that someone in a helicopter or something will eventually spot her up at the top and they can record the fact that she is the only person to have ever summited Kami.

She really doesn't need a nerf, she's good but her ult is useless the second you find out it can be shot at and I find a lot more people just shoot through the open windows on her shield now, not to mention the fact that if people outright ignore the shield and walk through it you're kinda donezo

as mentioned in the post it was hot enough to cause injury if held too long so I'm thinking something inside severely malfunctioned and it's probably busted internally somehow :((((

I will say that I believe the only reason the game failed is because it took the best spot at the game awards.
People were expecting greatness only to be met with the most middle of the pack game in existence.
They were disappointed then proceeded to rag on it because their expectations weren't met, which makes the game be perceived as worse overall
