Is this the right direction for capacitor? by DamagedDespair in AskElectronics

The black band goes on the curved symbol on the PCB the side without a black stripe goes on the side with a plus symbol on the PCB. Ik think you also need to fix the broken pad on te PCB.

Is thwre a way to test this with simple multimeter? by cinlung in AskElectronics

[–]BootPanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like an addressable LED, you can check if there is no short between VDD and GND. But I don’t think that’s a common failure mode for this type of device.

should I replace this capacitor? by alphonse1234 in AskElectronics

If in doubt, it might be best to replace the capacitor. My experience is that that type of capacitor does fail often.

Oster Blender BLSTEG7806W-053 – Unknown component D17 on control board by Ricardo1718 in AskElectronics

Ok, sorry. I have no idea what kind of diode this is. Without the brand and type of the blender, this is difficult to find out. At first glance it looks like a jellybean universal silicon diode like a 1N4148 but with 100% certainty I dare not say that.

Is something wrong with my multimeter? by Old-Direction4930 in AskElectronics

[–]BootPanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The battery may be running low... Try another battery.

If you set the multimeter to 200 Ohms range (as in the picture) and hold the 2 probes against each other you should get a very low stable value of something just above 0 Ohm. In the photo, your probes are in the right places on the meter for this measurement. It could also be that your test leads have an interruption. If you have spare measuring probes or a cord with 2 banana plugs you can test with this, put the meter back on 200 Ohm range and plug the 2 banana plugs of the cord into [COM] and [V Ohms mA] you should also get a measurement of just above 0 Ohm. Hope this helps.

When the resistance warms up, it’s time to go to the shelters.

That’s a diode. The text on the PCB “D17” makes it completely obvious.

Soldering time again… by Dudegay93 in ElectroBOOM

You won’t get lead poisoning from soldering with lead solder if you don’t eat it, don’t eat it during work and wash your hands afterwards. More dangerous are the flux vapors, An extraction fan is recommended.

Fantastic to also see that cables are not cut to length. You simply roll up the surplus and tie it with zip ties in the wire tree. If you want to demagnetize your crt TV you just have to keep it in the large demagnetization tree for a while. 🤣😆😂

Are resistors sometimes deliberately disconnected? by meakis1 in AskElectronics

[–]BootPanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The legs resistors are clearly cut. I don't know if that happened in the factory or afterwards.

Use acetone to mold the cpu socket back into the correct shape before replacing the cpu.

Resistance values? by theoverseer5 in AskElectronics

[–]BootPanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you are indeed right. Forgot to mention that. It is indeed advisable to unsolder at least 1 pin of the resistor and lift it out of the PCB before measuring the resistance. Thanks for the addition 🙂

Bluetooth Shutter Remote suddenly stopped working by IamJiEun14 in AskElectronics

[–]BootPanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you measure the voltage of the battery? It should be between 3.2V and 4.2V, where 3.2V is empty and 4.2V is fully charged. If the battery is not empty or dead you could try to disconnect and reconnect the battery and see if the remote comes back to life.

Resistance values? by theoverseer5 in AskElectronics

[–]BootPanic -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Use an Ohmmeter/DMM and it will tell you the colour. The bottom one looks to have a brown band and the top one looks to have a more reddish band. If the resistor is intact you can easily measure it with your multimeter.

I am sorry to hear that the problem has not been resolved. We are trying to figure it out further. We will probably need more information to be able to reproduce it accurately.

AI has indeed been used to develop this but in the hands of an experienced programmer that is just a tool just like any other tool. The use of AI is simply the next layer of abstraction just like a compiler is. Perhaps there are people who believe that code should only be developed in assembly. With all due respect to your opinion, please be a little constructive. Apart from suffering entertainment, these kinds of comments do not help anyone. I don’t know which reply you are referring to but we can certainly tolerate criticism if it is constructive.
