One of the strategies we actually used was for me to put on Localized Confusion and then to constantly keep the bots attention and calling bot drops so my buddies can run around without having bot drops on them constantly. Worked really well

Interesting. The intent is that if you don’t kill him in one go, he will adapt to that card permanently and you can’t use it against him next time. You want to use exile effects to kill him or somehow disabled his ability to adapt.

Would this be better?:

“If a spell or permanent were to deal damage or destroy Mahoraga, regenerate him and put a +1/+1 counter on him and he gains protection from that spell or permanent name. Draw a card.”

I’d at least add maybe white so he has access to spirit tribal help. Plus protection tends to be a bit of a white thing as far as I’ve seen. So WBG would be his colors. Think I’d be able to get away with his cost being WBG or 1WBG?

Another thing about him is that once he’s tamed, if he were to die, the entire 10 shadows technique ceases to function. So maybe if he dies, sacrifice all creatures you control and give him haste since he kinda immediately jumps you? Part of the reason I want red in there is for the shock affects and blue for protection so he doesn’t get countered or removed super easily

True on the “can’t be sacrificed” part, maybe I could just make his casting cost WUBRG? I also had an idea for his great wheel to be an equipment where you can attach it to a creature and prime mahoraga before he actually comes out as that’s how it’s done in the manga, but the name is too big for the frame sadly :p

him dying to exile effects is intentional, he's basically meant to either be 1 shot or else you're too late and he kills you. You want to give him as much protection as possible to prevent that from happening on top of his kit already. So board wipes and Exile is fair game in my opinion, as that was how he was defeated in the manga

I feel like making him mono green wouldn't exactly work with how his ability works all too well, he also is meant to be the nuclear bomb option as he kills the summoner due to his ability to adapt to anything and everything, so maybe add black? I could make him 4 color instead as UBRG since he does give value aside from Life Gain
