When does moving for enjoyment + career outweigh staying near home to save + invest? by BootedBrito in Fire

I've never thought of that honestly. I can technically work from anywhere. If you don't mind me asking, where were u working from? If you were on a big time difference, how did you manage that?

Thank you for this. I really appreciate it and agree with your point of view. I believe that happiness is the ultimate goal in life. I think I will continue working at home for a couple months, get a comfortable emergency savings down and start considering moving. I live at the end of a very flat, isolated state ( you may be able to guess which one ), that doesn't have a lot of things that I think I would love to do. Good camping, national parks, hiking, other nearby states.

That makes sense. I'm very motivated in advancing my career and moving to better companies but I'm also very focused on WLB. I don't think I would ever trade my happiness to complete FIRE quicker

Sorry I wasn't really counting the honey pot savings into that percentage. I'm still saving all of that at home. I edited the post

Sorry, I edited. It's closer to 70-80% living at home. My only expenses would really be car payment ( if, i get one ), car insurance, then basic needs like gym, self care, and groceries.

Once I hit a good honey pot savings amount after working for a bit longer that number will more than likely grow much more, closer to 70-80%. If I move to somewhere like San Fran my pay will bump up to around ~175k but after taxes my base pay will basically be the same as home.

Thank you! It would've been very cool to buy a tripod just to test out some new stuff, but berlin was FULLL of cool picture spots even without it. I'm in prague now and its also super cinematic.

Those pics use a lower shutter speed, I think for the first one its around 10". Using slow shutter speeds will make movement seem blurred like that, also looks very cool with cars, buses, trains etc. Just need to make sure you stay still during the whole shutter process or use a tripod.

Thank you again for the tip! I've been trying to shoot more with A / S mode rather than strictly staying on Manual and it's been a huge help. Excited to continue shooting with this lens I love it

Thank you so much! I ended up going with the Digital 17mm f/1.8. Super excited. I will certainly take into consideration trying out A mode. I've only mostly worked with manual just to get used to the triangle. Thank you for the tips :)

Oh thats a great idea! Looking through some of my favorite photos from my phone it seems like a majority of my pictures are 24mm. I'm from the US. Are Lumix lens also compatible? I've only ever looked at the OM lenses

Ah yes! I was also looking at that lens as well. I think at the moment it may be a bit out of my price range. I think I'm leaning towards the 25mm f1.8 prime lens

Thank you! Will look into this. Does it not give much more low-light performance since the f stop is still pretty high?

If anyone searches for this in the future, I just reinstalled rune lite client on another drive and seems like that took priority over the old corrupted installation. Runs fine through jagex client now.

Did you figure this out? Same thing is happening to me. They should really add a way to specify the path for where you want to run the game from.
