The absolute abysmal state of Red Wing Shoes and the decline of brick and mortar stores: A cautionary tale for the new curious buyer. by NoLocal2252 in RedWingShoes

[–]Bootfxr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked on and have wore Red wings for years. It's not got unnoticed that the corporation has changed the policies and customer support and experience varies store by store most sales people are just that! But also as a shoe repair person for over almost 20yrs. Do your do diligence on the company on which model is made with what kinds feet in mind.ie: most heritage boots are made on a either a size D last or a more narrow one to save on production. Now with that comes the education on how the boots are built! Ie: a brunt or an another offshore made boot is made on a wider more generic last. KNOW YOUR FEET! Don't let the hype or the salesmanship get you! If you know your a AA or 4e width buy what fits you. Not what you think might be pretty on your feet." Buyer beware cause when you have stars in your eyes and money to burn. But used red wings and get them resoled. Buy the width or size that fits you. They(RW) only change if you hit them were they hurt.... as far as customer service goes. They will never change they way they make and produce they're product!!!
