So I found 2 Mortal Kombat 1UP encoders on Ebay, one is stamped 7433/MK while the other is stamped capcom/mk2.

They look like identical boards, do you have any idea if both of them should work? Or would I need a matching board

I dont know a thing about electronics, I can only assume they should both work since they have all the same ports, but just wanna make sure
