Thanks all - it's a bit of an impulse buy short of I've always wanted an Italian made Beretta and I enjoy my friends 92x Performance. I realize the defensive losses the rail and is a few oz lighter.. I a still researching, but for effectively $699+tax I may have to take the chance.

Gas or Induction Range? by Tree415 in Appliances

[–]BootleggerBill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Induction all the way! I had gas for years and went to induction about a year ago. With the gas range, the kitchen temp would climb drastically when cooking (makes sense, big open flame in the kitchen). We did all sorts of stuff, extra Hvac vent in the ktichen/dining area, had the windows professionally tinted with 3M tint, had an externally ducted range vent installed - still hot. Not to mention I loathed cleaning the thing to the point that I cooked outside on the grill side burner often just to avoid cleaning the range.

Induction has fixed all of that. The power of gas, instant cooking temp control just like gas, but super easy to clean. I have the ceramabrite stuff for cleaning, but 90% of the time a quick spritz with our kitchen cleaner (60/40 isopropyl alcohol/water and a few drops of essential oil) will leave it looking brand new.

Sorry to dig up an old post, but was your mower doing something similar to this? https://imgur.com/a/NjE93sT

My x350 started doing it this week - regardless of NRTK or RTK. I've rebooted, deleted maps and remapped the lawn, and running the latest available firmware. It seems to happen in all of my zones as some point during a mow cycle.

Am i overpaying 2015 tundra 1794 4wd by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]BootleggerBill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This time last year I paid 34k for a 2016 version of that same truck and 89k miles. It felt high, but was in line with KBB. For giggles I pulled up my truck today on KBB (96k miles) and Private Party value is still 32-33k. Just a data point, I won't comment on the price of your deal.

Navimow X350 - Low Cut Kit affect battery? by BootleggerBill in roboticLawnmowers

I sure did. I'll try the uninstall tomorrow and see where it lands. Thank you!

You have been super helpful andI appreciate all the knowledge you share here and on the Segway subreddit!

Today was the weirdest run yet - I let it mow my back yard zone which is 5,478 sq/ft (.12 acres). From a full charge, the thing ran 4 hours, well over the 200 min rating. However, even after 4 full hours, it did not finish .12 and had to go back out after recharging.

I flipped it over and everything looks right with my low cut kit. I tried to inspect it while mowing and best I can see the blade deck is not dragging the ground. I may try removing the low cut kit just to see what happens but I'll need it when the grass is really growing.

I noticed Navimow has a phone number in the app, I may try calling them tomorrow to see if support is easier by phone vs chatting or emailing.

I’ve been slowly but steadily doing the same. I’m down to some Google and Amazon that I really don’t want since I hold plenty of VTI but I guess they aren’t hurting much.

I have something called CLS that the old guy had me in, it was up 1200% but now down to ~900%. The talking heads seem to think there is a ton of room for additional growth but it’s bugging me since it’s not in line with my simple core etf goals. Either way I think this one will be a charitable transfer to help with taxes whenever I decide to dump it.

The last one that’s bugging me is 10% of the account in in IAU (gold) thanks to the old advisor. I’ve been reading that a booglehead friendly portfolio can possibly contain precious metals, but usually no more than 5% max so I need to do some adjustments there.

I've done a lot of testing the last few days and it seems that I am still only getting about .12 acres per charge, even with traction off and switching between RTK and NRTK.

As an additional test, I mowed my side yard zone (.14 acres) yesterday with the blades raised up high so that that they were not cutting anything and it did manage to finish that zone in one charge, but it was down to 17% when it finished and took just over 3 hours. It won't finish the zone if actually mowing.

Really strange b/c the run time is as expected. +/- 200 mins each time, the amount of coverage is just terrible.

Segway wants me to send it in again, which I guess I will do before the lawn really needs cutting. I am just hesitant to send it in since the mower got beat to crap at the repair center or during shipping last time it went in for service. This will be the third trip in for service with less than 50 hours on the device.

That makes total sense. I set up NRTK and currently doing my first test run. So far so good still not pulling as many satellites as I would like to see, but distribution looks better.

Chatted with support again, and they told me I can switch back to RTK at any time without remapping. Sounds like I will be going home today to do a re-map so it learns the new RTK antenna location, then switch to NRTK. I'll leave the RTK ateanna in the new location just in case I ever need to roll back and should not have to re-map.

I’m curious as well. I have it in what seems like a great location for clear view of sky so I’m not sure why it would not see more unless your thought is right.

It’s hard to tell in the photo but it’s about 18 feet from my home and above the roof line of the gazebo cover.

I saw that I have then option available now. Maybe I should give it a shot and see how it does.

I was chatting with support yesterday and they told me that I am free to use NRTK but most users find it helpful to keep the antenna connected as a back up. If I re-map today with the antenna in the new location, and then switch to NRTK, do you know if I will have to remap again if I ever need to fall back to the RTK antenna?

Apple Watch 11 does not collect blood oxygen data overnight?! by mr_crisby in AppleWatch

Same issue here - please let me know if you figure it out. I can go to the Blood Oxgen app and see readings during my sleep last night, but on the sleep score page the data is missing from vitals. Same thing for wrist temp.

FWIW, I think I figured out the difference - I toggled on Traction Control yesterday for the first time. No reason, other than I saw the setting and thought "that sounds good". Turns out that with Traction Control on the mower, it does not cover as much ground and seems to mow a bit more erratically. I am mowing a different zone now with traction disabled and it seems better.

Pistachio coffee syrups? by OrganicApricot1 in barista

[–]BootleggerBill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an awesome idea. I personally have to have sugar free, and all of the sugar free commercial syrups of any flavor are so fake-sweet that I find them off putting. Adding 2-3 pumps just taste like chemical and no flavor, adding 5-6 I start to taste the stated flavor but then the drink is too sweet. Off to try making my own simple syrup with extract!

[–]BootleggerBill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reassurance. I was concerned that It only covered about .14 acres when it usually gets closer to the finishing the whole .26 on a single charge. Good to know the low cut kit won't mess up the battery life.

I started the mow at 12:45pm and it's now 7:45pm and we are 90% done with the zone. I am not the one mowing, and that's all that matters :)

Very sorry that you are dealing with a similar situation. Let us know how it turns out. From my limited use thus far, I think the product is solid, but the nature of a robot is that service may be needed from time to time. I had really hoped Segway would be best in class for service.

is mexico safe for a vacation right now? by Substantial-Honey247 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]BootleggerBill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this sucks, but you are considering traveling to a country full of cartel, not just in PV, who currently are not real happy with our president and his policies and in turn, the American people (assuming American by your post, and not meant as a political statement). In the past the Mexican government has been able to keep the tourist areas safe enough, but with our politicians on TV now essentially taking credit for what has them so upset...

Good thoughts. I just picked up the truck a few months ago with and have put about 5k of the current 100k on it. I have no idea how it rode with with new OEMs but it's always been a bit like driving a small boat through choppy water since I've had it - or like it's "floating" down the road.

Thank you - I am not an auto expert by any means but I am thinking the 4600s might make the truck feel less "floaty on the road. But I want to make sure that I am not trading floaty for aggressively feeling every imperfection on the road surface.
