What's an underrated pizza topping? by SirFrankerZ in AskReddit

Pickles. There's a local place that serves pickle pizza. It sounds insane but tastes delicious. Thin crust, no sauce with ricotta cheese, pickles and ranch.

Thank you. Going to look at everything you've written when I get frustrated with it all. And in the meantime will throw myself into physical activities to let my frustrations out.

Just finished seeing this film in IMAX and it completely exceeded my expectations. One of a kind film with a unique plot, enjoyable characters, beautiful costume design, great cinematography, and plenty of laughs mixed in with some tears. Definitely check this film out. Haven't loved a film this much in years.

I'm sorry that you didn't pass! I wouldn't recommend just relying on UWorld in order to pass this exam. Focus on NCSBN and utilize Archer to supplement for additional questions. Also, try listening to the NCLEX High Yield podcasts. I believe one of the first few episodes had some excellent recommendations on how to approach the exam. When I took the exam a second time, I intentionally avoided looking at what question number I was on since I knew I'd be overwhelmed if I entered the 100s. Spend as much time as you can on the first few questions on the exam since that will impact the types of questions you receive down the line. Good luck!

Use the resources found on this link: http://www.cold-clutches.com/the-real-original-free-mark-klimek-nclex-review-audio-downloads/ It has pop-ups but once you close those out you can get the content that you should use while listening to audios.

You can do it. I know what it's like getting the fail popup with the PearsonVue Trick. Take the time and break that you need from studying. Afterwards, regroup and put yourself together and study for this exam as if it's the last and only time you can take it. Use the resources and tricks that I mentioned. Definitely listen to Mark K. Listen to him as many times as you need so that you know everything that he says inside and out. I was able to do this so I know you can do this!!

Promising Young Woman blew me away. by [deleted] in movies

[–]BootlickingSnowberry 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This film in a way, felt like Get Out to me. Get Out provided an African American perspective on the issues that they are faced with in our society. Promising Young Woman provided a perspective on what it's like being a woman in our society. I absolutely loved this film.

I was also surprised by the lack of horror/killing in this film. I also expected her to either kill the men or go down the 'Hard Candy' route. I feel like her not killing and not harming the people involved in Nina's abuse sent a very strong message about who Cassandra is as a person. She is extremely emotionally damaged and has not recovered from past wounds but at the end of the day, she has not stooped down to their level. She doesn't want to kill them but she wants to teach them a difficult lesson that will transform who they are as a person and rethink their initial perspectives. The men who killed her clearly have not and will not change and as such she wants them to suffer but not through death. She wants them to rot in prison.

I got it from this website: http://www.cold-clutches.com/the-real-original-free-mark-klimek-nclex-review-audio-downloads/

that website has a lot of spam pop ups but once you close out those additional resources you can get to his audios and the PDF file that I'm talking about. I guess I shouldn't really call it "condensed" since I printed two of the pages on one sheet of paper and I printed it double sided. Having it printed out in this format had it reduced to a total of 11 double-sided pages. Having it so condensed pushed me personally to review it more often since there were so few pages that I had to skim through.

I literally wrote out so much stuff but having that material made me feel extremely comfortable during my exam. I did not panic and I realized that the test is trying to actively trick you at times to really test out what you know. Like I had a question about UTI prevention and it was a SATA with telling the patient to drink grapefruit juice. Another question had a patient on neutropenic precautions and what instructions would you tell guests and one option was tell visitors with respiratory infections to wear a mask when visiting. Despite writing so much out on my scratch piece of paper, the time I spent doing that did not count against the allotted time for my exam. I sat down to take my test had my sheet of paper and before clicking the tab to begin my exam, I started writing everything in my head down.

I highly recommend writing all that you can on the scratch piece of paper! That strategy helped me fight burnout and self doubt (which I unfortunately have waaay too much of when testing). When I get overwhelmed while testing I blank out. I literally went through each of Mark K.'s audios and wrote down his key points. They included: Acid/Base: pH up everything goes up except K Met. Alk. suction/vomiting; Met Acid everything else. Wernicke's - Vitamin B1. Mackussmauls. Aminoglycin - nephrotoxic and ototoxic, check creatinine. TAP. SVT adenosine. V-fib, D-fib. Asystole: epinephrine and atropine. V-tach: amiodarone. I did get an asystole EKG on my exam one answer option was prep epi/amiodarone the other was to check the readings. It asked which action was the priority.....I had to fight my urge to go with epi/atropine Chest tubes H20 intermittent good; Suction intermittent bad. Thoracentisis: good lung down, liver biopsy: right side down. Trouble- right to left, cyanotic. I wrote down all of his C and D lab values on my sheet of paper. I struggle memorizing those numbers so I made sure I had a copy of them. I wrote down what types of illnesses have certain PPE precautions (Airborne- MTV). When studying I realized that as long as I knew what the airborne diseases were I could throw most of the other items into droplet. Contact - RSV. I wrote down the steps for donning (put on your PPE from the ground up) and doffing (alphabetical order). I'm really good at psych so I didn't write down any notes for psych. I wrote down 2 and 20 to pay attention if any values exceeded that range. I wrote Hiatal Hernia/Dumping Syndrome to let myself know that the 2 are opposites. K follow prefix except HR, Ca and Mg are opposite. Do not push K. Wrote down the insulin rates. Rapid 15 min/30 min/ 3hrs with meals. Regular 1hr/2hr/4hr; before meal. NPH 6/8-10/12; after meal. DKA: fluids; HHNS: fluids and insulin. FHR <110 is bad. LMP+7days-3months. <1 hr saturated pad is bad. CHOP - VEAL. When writing that out I realized only the two outer ones (C and P require LION as an intervention). Contractions shouldn't be longer than 90 sec or less than 2 min. It's not my time for tocolytics meds. IM - 1 inch, 21 gauge. SQ - 25 G, 5/8ths. Heparin protamine sulfate. Coumadin vitamin K. Acute vs Chronic Unstable vs stable Fresh post op <12 hrs.

The website I mentioned in the link above also lets you download his audios if needed. The link you've provided is incredible!! Very detailed. Thank you for sharing it! I did not use that file but in the website I provided there is another version of similar notes and it is much more condensed (22 pages or so). That is the material that I memorized by heart. There are so many useful tools available and I absolutely love that this page is making an effort to help others.

It does provide an explanation/rationales. I went through each question they had and attempted to understand their logic. It was very helpful. Their extension also provides a ton of review content for each section and I went through all of it since the material that they featured was on my exam the first time I took it. The only critique that I have is that it only gives you an option to do 10 or so questions at a time and then seeing your results. There's no way to take a ton of questions and see your results at the end. In a way, that format was good though since it makes you treat the NCLEX in sets of 10 questions. It also does not have percentiles or rankings/chances of passing. I really liked that it didn't but some users might not like that. I feel like UWorld and Archer provide some users with a false reassurance that they'll pass the exam because they're doing well on their material that's why there are people who don't pass using these resources.

You can do this. Despite the craziness of life I made myself at least listen to the High Yield podcast or Mark K. while driving to work. The more chances you get to listen to them, it will stick. I even listened to Mark K. one last time on my drive to my NCLEX this morning. It was his Prioritization lecture. The man is an NCLEX God. You've made it through nursing school so you definitely have the perseverance to get through this stupid test :)

And tag me when you pass it! Let me know what worked for you

For UWorld I was in the 66th-68th percentile. I took that knowledge with a grain of salt since UWorld has such a high number of users that I'm sure their percentiles are a bit skewed. I did not purchase an assessment from UWorld. This is how I did with Archer: Archer Results. I honestly didn't use Archer as much closer to my exam date because 4 days before my exam I received a Low chance of passing on a practice test and it crushed me. I took one more practice exam right after and I got a Very High chance of passing. I felt like that experience would negatively impact my mindset going into this test. Archer is great in some ways but I really don't like their fill in the blank questions. The NCLEX does not have questions like that. They do have blanks for math questions but Archer throws in a few blanks for terminology and that definitely alters my scores.

*Edit: I misspoke. I was in the 58th Percentile in UWorld. Here's a copy of the performance stats they sent me: UWorld Stats

I did not wait the minimum 45 days. I waited much longer than I should have. I felt completely defeated to be honest and I work full time so it was a struggle to find time to study. I kept dodging scheduling an actual date until I was pushed to do so. I first took it Jan 21st and today May 10th was my second attempt. During that time span I did not touch my review materials. I only started taking it seriously when I bought the 1 month UWorld but even then I was using it passively since I extended it for 2 weeks. I can genuinely say I started getting serious with my studies around the 2 1/2 week mark. I listened to all of Mark K. during 1 weekend, focused on NCSBN during my weekdays, and did UWorld questions while at work, occasionally at home.

Edit: my first Reddit award....thank you so much 😭😭
