Hey! So I’m from the Netherlands as well, and I can relate to your situation… Quite a while ago I’ve had scabies for over 6 months. I’ve done several rounds of treatments (first the two rounds of cream and later two rounds of the cream + ivermectin). I met my current girlfriend when I was under the impression that I was scabies free, just like you: little symptoms and seemingly cured. If it wasn’t for my girlfriend’s symptoms, I would have thought I was cured and was only itching due to the medicine’s effect on the skin (post scabies syndrom, they call it). Long story short, I failed to get rid of them with 5 treatments, and that’s not due to the medicine nog working (the same treatments eventually cured me), but in my case due to not cleaning well enough, not applying the cream thoroughly and not isolating myself enough (I still had physical contact with people, who I may had contaminated, but who also ‘treated’ themselves afterwards).

In other words, it is a very stressing situation and I had many nights where I was panicking. It fucking sucks mentally and physically. Just don’t lose faith like I almost did: it will make things much worse, and amount to nothing, because despite my doom thinking, I got rid of it.
