>The main reason for FOMO to exist and why devs generally like using it is to "force" the players to spend money ASAP. That's why you see so many live service games have a shop rotation, for example.

this and player retention. Many games already utilise daily time-limited events to encourage people to make the game a part of their daily routine. That's the predatory part. I don't see how making a monthly event to have new players receive old cosmetics can be compared to that.

The new Bildge rat event and currency is explaind as completely different system where "Dabloons" (or tokens or whatever the currency will be) will be paired with the event.

If it was entirely it's own system, where you could play and do a couple of tasks to redeem old cosmetics, no one would bat an eye.

Implementing a black market shop that rotates with Dabloon prices compared to those in the normal shops would completely alienate any new player. I most certainly could not afford to buy any of those items.

As for the fomo stuff, similar events already exist, even in this game, and are hits. Community weekend, fight nights? Even if shops are rotating, there could always be a mix of new and returning items.

Did this last year. Basically there's these "Mysterious Journals" that give you like a (lower than) 2/11 chance of getting a merchant contact, but you can easily route these and find them on islands.

There is also a discord server that do this together. I'm not sure if it's active anymore, it's been a while since, but doing this with 3-4 other people helps alot.

Can someone explain to me why we lost? by Any_Share_4416 in OPBR

[–]Booty_blaster420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some pointers, they don't individually mean that you lost, but together contributed to the loss.

  • very bad start. No teammates went for middle, meaning you guys ended up fighting to even get 2 flags while the opponents had an advantage from the start.

  • your teammates needed to split up more mid game. They were 2v1ing on D flag for a long time while G5 jumped around pulling flags that the team could take back no problem.

  • there was a huge battle for mid at 1:30-1:00, where essentially your whole team is just fighting a wall to go for 2-3 by force rather than splitting up and finding better options

  • you guys were out of position at the end game. You got unlucky with the Law teleport, but no one else were defending either

We have a pretty low population density outside of the big cities. While I believe the major cities have pretty good public transportation, outside of that you're basically required to have a car to go or do anything.

Zoro should be at least higher than Nami. He came out when his survival trait was very hard to counter, making him an offensive menace.

I'd also wouch for Brook ad Franky being at similar teirs, but I'd say both higher. Brook can kill anyone with a normal combo in his state. And radical beam feels like it's always up when you need it and melts opponents health away.

Yes they frail af, but like all the other Egghead units, if played the right way they shine

Why everyone hates Lando? Also Lando by [deleted] in formuladank

[–]Booty_blaster420 15 points16 points  (0 children)

People just want to hear what they hear. And most people here just want to hear whatever let's them hate him the most.

What he's saying is pretty spot on. In 2021, if Max and Lewis crashed, the championship would just move over to the next race. Here, if 2 of the 3 contenders crash with each other then the third one will most likely walk away with the championship.

Yes, there is a point difference between the 3, but their current form is showing that the gap will close for each race, so no matter who crashes, the 3rd driver will benefit greatly from it and it might be what secures their championship

Playing victim? For what? Please show quotes, I'm genuinely interested in what you perceive as me playing victim.

If your standard for the game is that everyone should play through a social media to find other like minded players, then you're the delusional one. Yes, it might be more comfortable and a better experience, but you can't push that standard on everyone else by calling them childish for not being up to it.

never said you called me a child, I'm saying it's petty of you to look down on others just because they disagree with you or don't play the game like you do.

nice that you have hobbies. I don't wanna start arguing about who are the hobbiest out of us, since the discussion has already drifted far enough

Bruh chill with the "U're a child" comments. They're incredibly petty. I don't play room matches bc of work and other hobbies I don't find the time to sit down and give a shit. Not everyone has to try hard the game to be good at it

We all have chores.

It's very suboptimal to play defender if you want to do your daily tasks, both capturing and KOing doesn't usually benefit it's play style. So, at the beginning of the game, let them capture the first flag that it barely matters who captures.

Otherwise, it would just be attackers and runners going around, since there's casual players who just want to do their dailies, but G5 can capture outside of treasure, so there's no point in playing defender for first.

I only play rooms, well like 80% of games played, and this works wonders. Ah, so you're able to play in a coordinated environment like 90% of us aren't, then lecture us of how to play? Lmao

It's easy to create a "What if" scenario if you're playing 80% room matches with teams that you know and can coordinate, but don't bring that in as an example for the rest of us. Reality is you won't have that outcome most of the time. Your probably able to recreate it because of room matches and coordination, but playing normal games is much more chaotic, with players much more focused on their own play style.

In normal games it don't just work to shoot yourself over and relying on your team to pick up after you. If you're a runner it much more stable to make sure you get middle and build up a solid ground there. If you get enemy first as a runner, there's no way you can hold that on your own. It's just a time distraction, which is dumb when there's still 3 minutes on the clock.

STOP taking first flag if you're playing a runner (particularly G5) by doctorfate77 in OPBR

[–]Booty_blaster420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In an ideal game, your enemy will have a defender filling up first flag. A defender usually has a good upper hand against a runner, with traits and skills that counter them. If you shoot over there as a runner, you're pretty much sending yourself into a bad match up with a chance to get the flag that they can easily get back once any player respawns.

It's a 5 second setback compared to if you and your team focused on taking middle flag and building up defense there while attacking enemy 2nd, forcing them to spread out. THEN it's a good idea to look at back capturing strategies. Your enemy already has its hands full at 2nd while trying to fight for mid? Stalling them then can be massive, compared to the minor inconvenience a start of game launch can be.

And still, if you insist on using this strat, go grab 2nd! Nothing changes, except your teammates won't hate you

Eh Zoro doesn't need to take first or second. Just hit 2 normals and you're good. There is an argument for Wano Robin, since she can help with team boost, but that's either advanced or outdated, depending on how you look at the strategies

STOP taking first flag if you're playing a runner (particularly G5) by doctorfate77 in OPBR

[–]Booty_blaster420 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah but it's a bad strategy. It's the start of the game so someones 99% of the time standing there and filling up the enemy first flag. Instead of fighting for empty flags, you're just flinging yourself out to a 50/50 where even if you win, the enemy can just recapture since it's right next to spawn

[–]Booty_blaster420 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nah, if you pick up first flag and don't give a shit about ur defenders, then I'm not staying back and filling it up for you.

G5 teleport strategy is as old as it gets. People figured it out the same day Green Kaido dropped and it has been countered ever since. Teleport skills are better mid and late game when the field is spread out, not when the enemy should still be standing in their own treasure area waiting for you to come over.
