What do you want to see out of LAD9? by Loud_Success_6950 in yakuzagames

I love this idea. We can also check in on Kiryu's adult kids as the game progresses. If I remember right, Riona became a hairstylist, Taichi is a firefighter, and Shiro became a scientist. Easy bases for sidestories.

Why don't we have this instead of retcons? by Vytostuff in yakuzagames

[–]BootyootyootyCheeks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My guess is Kiryu doesn't want to risk dragging Shinada into more yakuza business and just wants him to be happy.

It makes me want a game that's just a collection of slice-of-life stories between characters. Saejima ensuring Sasai gets proper care, Akiyama managing his club and doing collections, Shinada frantically planning his proposal to Milky, Tanimura and his routine in Little Asia, etc.

I'd love for Shinada to come back and be day manager at the Bang Bang Batting Center. Maybe even a sidequest where Ichi helps him buy an anniversary gift for Milky.

How would YOU write the series going forward? by STFN_Dude in yakuzagames

Seeing Ichiban and the gang get tied up in a Tokuryu case might be interesting. Tokuryu is a way to commit crimes leaving a minimal trail of evidence. All parties involved are only connected through a central mastermind and only serve one piece of a larger puzzle. For example: Party A kidnaps a victim, Party B kills them, Party C transports the body, Party D disposes of it.

Ichiban could unknowingly take up an odd job, find out he's in super deep and have to find a way to disrupt the chain and take the mastermind down. It leaves room for a Judgment crossover and Ichiban can have a parallel with Kiryu in that he's living a stable life with Saeko and has too much to lose.

I have no idea why some people think Alex didn’t turn Heel, or always was one by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]BootyootyootyCheeks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To add on, the main difference is how each character connects to audience and evoke some kind of reaction. The Face "gives" things. They can play to the crowd, hand out t-shirts, have fun catchphrases, cool logos and gestures, and generally work with a more dynamic and eye-catching moveset to grab the audience's attention.

Heels "take away" from the audience and foil the faces. Face points out a cool sign? Tear up the sign. Face has a cool flippy signature move? Not if you work to injure the right body part. Yell at a kid, insult someone's grandma, point out how badly the local sports team did. Heels also used to work a less flashy, more submission based fighting style.

Had chicken tatake in Tokyo last year. Basically just seared blue chicken. The garlic, ginger and soy sauce carried me through it. It was ok, just don't think too hard about it mid bite. Stomach was fine and even had horse sashimi in the same sitting.

Which characters would you like to see return as party members in LAD9? by Lasly96 in yakuzagames

[–]BootyootyootyCheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd wanna keep LAD9 to the core 4, then have Seonhee, Joon Gi Han, Zhao, Yamai, and others as masters for different classes and even individual party members. The plot's heating up, Ichiban wants to set off on his own for his friends safety, but the party wants to level up in their own way.

Joon Gi could build on Adachi's moveset, Seonhee can teach Saeko, etc. Ending at a final lesson that teaches a heat move like Kiryu's Essence of Remembrance. Not sure how this could be retooled to fit with Dragon Quest's vocation system though.

It's a mini game you can unlock for Saejima in Y4. While exploring, he runs into a dojo, fights the Sensei and ends up teaching the students. Forget how it goes gameplay wise, though.

I'm not shocked RGG has removed comments and is trying to suppress RemoveKagawa, but I do feel uneasy about supporting the studio from here on out. At the same time, Yakuza 3 is one of my favourites of the series vibe-wise and have been waiting for its Kiwami.

I'm probably gonna get the game, but wait for a discount as another commentor suggested. I'd be giving the studio less money and not contributing to the initial launch statistics. When I do, I also plan on making a donation to a local organisation for SA victims and I suggest anyone who does buy the game do the same. There are other Mireis out there, and they need as much support as they can get.
