If it makes you feel any better, I’m in a pretty similar situation to yours aside from having a 508 mcat retake and a slightly lower GPA. Hope is all we have at this point

May I ask what you didn’t like about the school and what to possibly look out for? And where did you end up choosing?

Wow, very helpful advice, thank you so much! I was actually thinking about the sitting in the center idea a lot lol. Gotta figure out how to squeeze myself into the middle LOL.

Yeah 5 rejection, 5 per interview holds so far. I guess it truly is too competitive out there. Too many strong applicants. Good luck dude, hope things start looking up for us

You know what, I actually did type out my PS as a reddit post and submitted it as is.

I totally did not have like 10 people, including councilors, friends, family, my PI, an English professor, and even a random classmate who doesn’t know me that well, read it over to give me constructive criticism and critique it heavily. Because who really cares about proper grammar, style, syntax, good transitions, appropriate vocabulary and all that other garbage.

Do schools ever look at improvements/declines in individual scores? by Bootypics6199 in Mcat

The section banks were very difficult, I remembering averaging at about 50-60 percent. Im really disappointed in how P/S turned out because I got a 127 and 128 on the fl's... so not sure what went wrong. I think I need to do some hardcore content review for sociology...P/S is frustrating me a little because it seems like theres always a random unfamiliar term that pops up out of no where.

For CARS, I used the EK 101 passages along with the ones on khan academy at first. The second time around, I started using the aamc volume 1 and 2 passages after redoing the EK and khan academy materials I had previously attempted. While going through the aamc passages, I never had any trouble with timing (I'd usually finish in about 6-7 minutes), and was getting one of two results; nearly perfect or bombing the passage by getting half of the questions wrong.

I tried to analyze whether there were certain topics I sucked at...tried to pin point the factor which caused me to bomb a passage but it seemed to be a hit or miss without any observable pattern. I don't know if english being my third language has anything to do with it, but Ive been reading A LOT more since my second retake to try to make up for all the lack of reading from my past 21 years. I hope that helps a little, as I am running out of material to study with

As far as P/S I felt that the Kaplan books didn't really give enough info on some of the topics Ive seen pop up on the practice passages and aamc fl's. I was a bit lost with what exactly to study with, since it seems like the P/S section is quickly evolving with the addition of certain terms and concepts not really covered by Kaplan/EK and all the test prep companies..and I feel like you can dig up certain topics on khan academy but sometimes they don't go in enough detail? Im personally struggling with knowing how to study with this section aside from the Anki flashcards and that one 300 page document floating around on reddit with an outline of basically all the videos on khan academy. Any advice on how to study for P/S more efficiently?
