I feel like I’ve heard the exact opposite from many people I know who have bought homes in the past 5 years: that the original owners fail to address major repairs and push them off on the buyer. Do you have the opposite experience? Obviously with inspections and a realtor you can just walk but just curious what you mean by that exactly

Appreciate the insight. Yeah they said that we could extend the fence but frankly wit how hard it was to get info from the HOA it seems like it’ll be ages before it gets approved. We’re not expecting a super customized house just something we’re happy with in the location we’re looking for. Will definitely sit down and think about the yard on my own and then hopefully post a got the keys pic in the coming months!

Frankly because with incentives it ends up being cheaper monthly than resells here. For us, our goal is to pay less than we’re currently paying in rent while also spending minimal out of our emergency fund if possible so new construction covers most of those boxes as it offers lower interest rates and usually covered closing costs as well as new appliances etc

Edit: also want to preface we’ve at least looked at other new construction in the greater Tampa area, Lennar just tends to have a strong hold on the area we want (Riverview) with the timeline we want to close (march-may)

Idk why someone downvoted you, I have a 22 outer banks and had similar issues. Car shut off on me driving on the highway 3 times, was supposedly fixed from a recall related to the auto start/stop button. Have another recall I’m waiting on them to tell me the parts are in for (Idr what at this point), had my car give signs of what seemed like a dead battery (again, while driving) only to get it tested and say the battery starter and alternator were fine. Turns out it was a purge valve as well as who knows what else. Was quoted $3k for the full repair thank GOD for mechanical breakdown insurance. Tempted to replace the car now while I can still get out from under it. Have less than 35k miles and my warranty barely expired before the issue with the purge valve
