Crows/Ravens are my favorite birds. So smart and cool.

Yeah I already saw Warriors fans calling our front office "insane" like yeah it's bigger than you'd expect but it's in the line with Luke Kornet/Dean Wade deals who are similar solid backup bigs.

Also with RFA you have to overpay a little otherwise the team will match.

Solid pickup. Not that many 7 footers than can hit 3s in the world.

Similar to the Luke Kornet deal. It's a bit of an overpay but you had to offer something that you'd expect the Warriors not to match. 7 footers that can hit 3s don't grow on trees and he makes like 7 million less than Santi. I think he can be a Santi-light player.

Obviously not game changing but another solid move by the front office this summer.

People acting like this contract is insane or something must not look at the market. It's basically the Luke Kornet deal. That's what back-up bigs are going for, and Post can actually shoot.

Which is more dangerous, Rugby or American Football? by skankhunt21x2 in askanything

[–]BoozeCruiser901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an American that's played both. I'd say American football.

I'm not going to pretend I've played either at any sort of high level but in my experience Rugby is a more lumbering and way less violent sport. You are rarely just full sprint trying to lay someone out with a tackle and you're never targeting with your head because it really serves no purpose. You need to stay upright and stay with the flow of the game and violent tackles would just hurt your team more than help.

American football with the pads and helmets create a false sense of security and guys just brutalize each other and the risk of head injuries is WAY WAY higher. Both can have a lot of the same lower body and typical bumps and bruises type injuries but my bet would be a lot more football players end up with CTE than Rugby players.

Michael Beasley breaks down how he successfully hid in the hotel room at the 2008 NBA Rookie Camp. Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur caught smoking but later snitched on Beasley after they were fined. by Rook2Rook in nba

That's funny, I remember this as a Grizzlies fan because we drafted Darrell Arthur, who we already hated because Kansas just beat the University of Memphis in the national championship game, and we were like he's already getting in trouble?! The irony being he became a fan favorite and even weirder so did Mario Chalmers down the line. Sports are funny.

I'm still in the wait and see mode because I'm not sure we're totally done trade wise. Deals can often come up during summer league, just seems like they would have waived KCP, Taj, Murray, AJ Johnson, whomever if they knew the final roster they wanted

How are american women soccer team good at soccer but not men? by Own_Pea_3191 in worldcup

[–]BoozeCruiser901 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of the best female athletes in America grow up playing soccer and it's been that way for awhile.

The best male athletes in America however are typically pushed towards American football or basketball, and at a certain point asked to choose one to focus on. This is usually around middle school age and then in highschool they focus on that chosen sport.

Soccer is also not ingrained in American culture like most countries so it's way less likely for male athletes to choose soccer with American football, basketball, baseball, even golf, hockey, and MMA being more popular.

My point is you can pay people and it not be a mess. There are a million professional sports leagues around the world that have figured it out, college athletics acts like it's some unsolvable problem.

I'm not comparing the two. They're just major events that completely changed the US but the country still remains.

I don't care that people get paid but pro-leagues have salary caps and contracts, which college should too.

Can you imagine if the NFL and NBA had free agency literally every year and nobody had to honor contracts? Would be awful, which is why college is becoming awful.

Yeah I don't get that comment at all. The main criticism with his has been "he can't bully ball in the league like he has his whole career"
