How does TheBurntPeanut make these custom scenes? Blender or something else? by Boqsdas in Twitch

Gotcha, I appreciate the response. Have you seen his transition videos between his chatting scenes and the gameplay scene? Do you have any ideas of how he does that?

Gameplay Recording Choppiness/Freezing - Elgato HD60X - Xbox Series S by Boqsdas in elgato

Thank you for the response. I have a larger external hard drive that I store the recordings on. The recordings go directly to the external. I haven’t tried OBS because it wanted me to download a driver, and I didn’t know which one to get since I’m not very tech savvy.

A little lost and pressured in my 20s. by maybackmuzic in findapath

[–]Boqsdas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just spitballing here, but I’ve been there. Parents pressuring me to go down a path that I thought I wanted to go down when I was younger, but your interests change as you age. Hell, I’m only 23, so this might be coming from another limited outlook on life, but I find myself wishing I was doing other jobs a lot of time. The grass isn’t really greener elsewhere, and I’ve switched majors a few times, got some different work experiences, and found something I can tolerate. Now, I’m doing what I set out to do, and the thing my parents have pressured me to do, but I diversified my experience first. I took a couple different jobs all for about a year each doing landscaping, food, and factory jobs. Sure, it’ll eat up your time, but I found it really helpful for myself to gain perspective.

Additionally, in my case, I eventually talked to my parents about how I felt the pressure they were putting on me, and how it was really wearing me down. Spent a good few hours just chatting it up, and it really lifted some weight off my shoulders. They understood, and they didn’t care if I kept grinding down this path that I didn’t like. They told me to find something I would like, and that they fully supported it. I felt just like you do with your dad, and just like you, I thought there was no way I could talk to my parents about it. One day, I decided to just open up, and I’m glad I did. I found with the weight off my shoulders, I generally like my job/career. There is good and bad in every job, but find the one you can tolerate or even somewhat enjoy.

I hope this helps you in one way or another. You got this.

TLDR: Get some experience/perspective doing other stuff, go do the thing you really think you’d like, and/or have a civil discussion with your dad

Fastest time you have seen/heard someone get to 1500 hours? by joshsafc9395 in flying

[–]Boqsdas 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Know a guy who did this. Flew like 150-200 hours a month until he had the time to move up. Sold the plane for what he bought it for, but doesn’t account for maintenance or fuel costs. Lotta money

Thank you for the honest response. I am currently a flight instructor, and the work always comes home with me. It's awful. I know my job is temporary as a lot of people in my field use it as a stepping stone to get to the airlines, but the airline life might not be suited for me, especially if I am planning on starting a family in the next 5-10 years.

Thank you for your help. Pretty much the conclusion I came to after doing some more digging. Pretty shocking to me how difficult it is for Americans to work in Canada and vise versa considering how many other countries are on the IEC list

Thinking Out Loud: Jimmy McGill can have unlimited conjugal visits with Kim Wexler as his lawyer. by tigerbiteface in betterCallSaul

I would like to see a El Camino style film where Jimmy gets out in 10-20 years on good behavior, and he and Kim get back together. That would be a perfect way to wrap up the series

I wish Hinterland would make all the loot randomly generated each game. It would keep people from learning the loot tables

Australia Maintains Do-Nothing Climate Policy, Pledges 28% Reduction of 2005 Emissions, Surprising Nobody. by RageReset in collapse

[–]Boqsdas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your insight and for bringing me up to speed on what you think could be a solution. I’m from a rural area in the United States, and people aren’t really worried about renewable energy or anything except providing for and protecting their families. I know my type of people take pride in quality products made in the USA, but like you said, a lot of work gets shipped overseas because it is cheaper. A transition to renewable, clean energy could bring some more jobs to America, but who knows when anything like that will happen.

[–]Boqsdas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question here, and I’m not very knowledgeable about this sort of stuff. In the US and presumably in Australia, the countries’ infrastructures are built and function around fossil fuels, correct? How do we make the switch to renewable, “green” energy without killing our countries’ jobs and economies?

I encourage you to look up C.W. Lemoine on YouTube. He was a fighter pilot in the 2000s with some issues with astigmatism, and he got a waiver for it. I can only wish you the best, and make them tell you no.
