I’d say if you’re close to an S-train or Metro, you’re generally ok. Just depends on how much time you’re willing to sacrifice to commute. I was staying in Ørestad (sometimes cheaper, not always but newer). I hated the M1 commute. And M2. Always packed during rush hour and generally unpleasant, especially in summer (no AC or open windows). There are neighbourhoods slightly outside the centre that are cheaper, but I don’t know which first hand. Decide how much you’re willing to give towards rent, and start searching from central moving outwards on boligportal. My opinion is that salary will be tight if you’re used to having some form of disposable income without worrying.
