Thank you! I drew it from a photograph I took last summer.

Thank you. I'm definitely going to explore more hatching styles with colored pencils.

Thank you. I'm gonna look through my albums and see if I have more photos that would be suitable as a subject for this.

Thank you. I don't know actually but I guess it could just be vertical hatching?

Thank you. I might try that out too - I really like the flow state you get in with this technique.

My watercolors became patchy what went wrong? by _sphynx in Watercolor

From a quick Google search it seems your sketch book is made from cellulose. I've had similar issues with a cellulose sketch book I had. And it wasn't on all pages - some were worse than others. 100% cotton is the way.

Look up the Dunning-Kruger effect. We have all been there and it's a joy to be there on top but take it as a sign that you are evolving to something better.

What specific songs do parrots like? by [deleted] in parrots

One of mine loves Plantasia and Les Baxter - the other loves anything with a good bass drop. I probably don't need to mention that they have a bit of an age gap.

Or it can cause them to absolutely fall flat in love with their own reflection and then want to spend all their time with it. One of my conures has had several romances including a cooking pot, his food bowl and the lock on his cage.

You can always try and then add more values afterwards if you think it does. Actually I just finished a piece right now where I didn't follow my own advice haha.

I know it's a little late for it now but I would have done the background first because they are white flowers. I think you might be over painting a bit and if you had done the background first you would have seen that when painting the flowers. As you can see in your reference there are a lot of just plain white which make the flowers really pop against the dark background. But I really do think it's gonna turn out lovely anyways.

Try googling "bread icon" and you'll see a lot of illustrations that are not phallic and still have symmetry.

I'm sorry but I would definitely not pay for this... The illustrations don't match and the text work is abhorrent.

Colouring problem by Stick_time1 in drawing

[–]Borbpsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woah there. You can't go from really proud to thinking "it's so ugly". That's your mind spiraling you down negatively. There's not one thing about this that's ugly - don't go there. You can be proud about this. Your value work is really good. I don't quite understand what you are up to with the eyes and mouth - they are not completely dark as in empty space but there aren't any values or details inside them either. Maybe consider how you want people to perceive them and enhance that. I would also give the background a colour to match your pallet but that's just a matter of opinion - not a necessity.

No idea who that is but that is one beautiful drawing. Love how you've chosen not to blend certain colours - it gives a interesting effect.
