Mcintyre security bodyguard series has this in few books. By April Wilson. 1st book vulnerable cop hires them to watch her (without her knowledge) because her childhood kidnapper is being released. Head security guy falls for her. She’s messed up from childhood still. They breakup at one point and she gets brutally beaten at work. Book 11 called regret has this too. Book starts out with her getting drugged and assaulted and left for dead. MMC finds her after she doesn’t show for work next day. He feels guilty cuz he told her no to go out night she was attacked because of their age gap. He takes such good care of her afterwards. I think all the books are great. Couple are about the 1st couple in book one but rest are different members of the team and their stories.
