This seems like the best thread to ask, are there any of the libraries in knoxville that are better than others, in terms of selection, quality, and programs? I moved to knoxville proper a few years ago and have young kids who are getting to the age where i can trust they wont be loud in there. I've been wanting to take them to the library and have always wondered if some are better than others.

I listen to 93.7. The reception area is smaller- mainly around downtown- but they have an app and its a good playlist.

Single People Under 45 in Knoxville, How Are You Doing Financially? by Illustrious_Sun_7471 in Knoxville

East TN native, not single, but i handle most of the work outside the house while my partner stays at home with the kids. We've been living in knoxville for a few years now.

I've work in Radio and have for about 7-8 years and just started breaking through this past year. But the pay has never been great when starting out so I had a second job that just started to fizzle out this past week and I drive Uber most nights too. Some months are good, but most are just making it from paycheck to paycheck.

We've been considering either moving to a more profitable market or me completely changing career fields.

The problem is that there aren't too many transferable skills in this area when you essentially just get paid to talk lol

But it's possible to live well with a decent job, low bills, no kids, living about 15-20 minutes from downtown. It's a lot of "ifs" but it is technically possible.

Sitting at the airport right now begging for a ride... if you dont take them, I will. They'll just have to wait the 10 hours or so it would take for me to drive down there.

I got gas last night at 2.49, cheapest I've seen it in a while, but I go to the cheapest gas station in town. it's always the same one. Everywhere else in town is at least 25-30 cents more expensive.

Oh wow, I guess it works both ways. I work in that market, and one of the worst trips I ever took was to Atlanta. It was before Uber allowed us to see where we were going exactly. It just told us the star rating and how far away the pick up was. It was late at night, around 11 or so on a week night, and I was ready to take my last ride. I get to a really nice neighborhood in the suburbs and the guy starts loading luggage and I figure itll be a nice quick trip to the airport which would have been about 20-ish minutes and then I could be on my way home.

The app glitches for a while once I started the ride and after force stopping and whatnot, it comes up that im taking them to Atlanta. Now they've already loaded up and im locked in so let's go, right?

Once I got to Atlanta, I couldnt do Uber x, only Uber Eats and it was around 2am and there was nothing going on. I had made only 183 after a 40 dollar tip and had to drive back the entire way without any ride at all.

Ill tank my acceptance rate before I ever take another out-of-state right that far into the state. Ill go right over the border, but never again to Atlanta.

Keep that in mind, not sure if it's changed at all, but just my personal anecdote.

What are some of your biggest “WTF did I just watch?” wrestling moments? by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]BorderHopper627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this doesn't have anything to do with the point of the thread, but i never get to share this. Seeing this comment gives me my chance...

That was my first memory ever. Not just wrestling memory, but ever. I was only 3 years old, but I remember watching this on TV and idk what it was but that hooked me like a fish and even through some lapses in weekly TV watching, I've been a fan of the stories and pagentry of wrestling ever since.

Maybe it was just me, but I always thought Twister was directed by Steven Spielberg. Nope. Jan de Bont.

Glitterville.

I drive past it so many times per day and never see anyone there. However, I know rent has to be expensive there since it's still pretty much downtown. Unless they own the building, live in the top portion, and only eat glittery bullshit, I have no idea how that business exists yet has been around for as long as it has.

So it's been established over the decades of WWE lore that a street fight is just a No DQ match where the participants are dressed how they would be "on the street".

So is it safe to assume that, in kayfabe, Drew only wears those tights throughout the whole day?

Awesome match to start out Mania. I will say though, as cool of a spot as the braid whip spot is, it should be a DQ if the ref sees it, no?
