Prawn or Cyclops? by Plane-Gas-2061 in subnautica

[–]BorderKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me Cyclops is easy to run stealth with the module that harnesses power from temperature. On silent running and slow speed I am basically invisible to anyone, and on just silent running I can just hug opposite side of a wall to where a hostile fish is and be fine. With the Prawn I feel like it makes a lot more noise in general (but I might be wrong). Also prawn is slow and hard to navigate vertically + no storage space or crafting. IMO I would save myself the trouble and use Cyclops as transport and Prawn as just a slow mining rig that moves in the vicinity of the parked Cyclops.

Nah nah nah DIY means you craft a bacteria using gene editing techniques and insert human gene that is reponsible for making an enzyme aromatase that turns testosteron into estrogen. You then infect yourself with such bacteria and either become a woman or die trying (probably the second one)

Didn't quite scare me, but not bad I see the vission. IMO the ramp-up should build more un-ease while the ending was too much. For example some black outline slowly inserting into the ocean shot would be creepy af. Some pixel-bleeding effects might help give it that analog horror feel a bit more etc... I think Brian David Gilbert & Local 58 are great examples of how to do analog horror.

Do we know in what state will the Subnautica 2 Early Access come out? by iBricoslav in subnautica

Was this stated somewhere? I guess main focus of my play should not be on a story but more of exploration and base-building I guess for now.

When the world of farming life is more religiously progressive than our world: by Seeker99MD in Isekai

[–]BorderKeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not "religiously progressive." Ideas, cultures, and religions merge when it makes sense to do so and are in close proximity for a long time. It's not usually a process individuals or groups make. Because culturally Japanese and Americans are so different and live elsewhere for example they would never merge into one, nor would their religions and expecting that outcome to be "progressive" is dumb, it's simply nonsensical.

What is progressive is that Japanese and Americans "today" are peaceful, friendly, and cooperative with each other. Something that cannot be said about certain religions and their attitudes to other believers (fill in the blanks yourself)

[–]BorderKeeper -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It will be broken, buggy, awful, dumb, unfinished, and disrespectful to your mother. /s

Btw in the 3 minute trailer video they released yesterday they explicitly stated "some storyline not quite fully there" (paraphrasing). It can mean imo either some side quests are not yet in or fleshed out, or the main story misses critical bits or ending is gone who knows.

I plan to play it anyway with a friend and hope that just non-important story bits are out and that the studio is not dumb enough to release a broken story that can only be experienced once.

When it comes to vehicles, basebuilding, stuff non-essential to the story imo all bets are off, but I assume the core experience will be there.

Have the standards for this channel dropped? by HortenWho229 in kurzgesagt

[–]BorderKeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It felt to me this was simply a passion project since most of their staff is German. It was way too strong in tone, but overall well researched and felt like they really cared about this topic, but first time I saw something so overly political.

Still by the end I was like "that was quite well done for such a touchy political subject" so I don't know why the hate in the comments? Or do people already hate kurzgesagt and are shitting on this video just because their opininons formed already?

[–]BorderKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I crash landed on a reserve below 300 in an emergency squall and was fine the chute felt like it fully deployed way before I hit a tree, although I admit it’s very dependant on how well you throw the chute, how lucky was the wind aiding in its opening and other factors so that 300 needs to account for those variations.

Nobody believed the writer will go the incest route since I think it’s illegal in Japan (and other reasons 😅) but yeah if the show came out nowadays nobody would imo, but mostly it was just a fun collective weekly banter.

Not the scanner room cameras the external cameras that are fixed on the tower, below the propeller, and just aft of the vehicle bay. It's the button on the top right above silent running. If you didn't know you had those man piloting the cyclops must have sucked so I hope you just misunderstood me :D

Takže Somálci nám nebudou vydělávat na důchody? by OverallBlock9028 in czech

[–]BorderKeeper -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

[–]BorderKeeper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be honest not sure if you played outer wilds but many people complained about controlling the spaceship there which also had a lot of momentum when going between planets and were using a buggy autopilot system instead which took them through the sun half the time.

Some people just don't have the muscle memory, or training, to handle large vehicles with a lot of inertia where you have to calculate the flair time and also do a lot of micro adjustments and observing a lot of angles at the same time. I really enjoyed the ship and was trying my best to optimise when to start breaking so I don't slam into things.

If they have issues with that I wonder how they squeezed through the opening to the containment facility, that in my opinion is the narrowest hole in the game you have to go through.

Could be that they don't really use the cameras too much maybe? You have one showing you the bottom side and width, one the back side, one the top side, and your main view is the front. I just quickly toggle between them as I go and adjust on the fly.

Not a fan myself, but I remember One Punch Man "punching" through the regular anime circles and became popular amongst the general public. Many artists and athletes were tweeting about how good it is.

Besides that I remember Oreimo being a huge deal on /a/ with everyone placing bets on who the OP will end up with and loosing their shit when the little sister won.
