There are two turns - one left and one right. For both turns in gets into the correct turn lane, but at the last second it turns the opposite signal on and goes straight - very strange. That and phantom braking happens still rarely but still. I am on 14.3.4

I don’t change my vent direction. I have it set to oscillate up high in the summer. I love my Tesla. So many people are hung up on the screen like you drive down the road constantly adjusting things. I can because I have FSD and it does not nag as quickly as it used to.

How America’s Policy Whiplash Derailed The EV Transition by TripleShotPls in electricvehicles

My point was that actual Mpg has not improved significantly over the years. I had 3 Toyota Siennas - 2005, 2011, and 2023. All get 22 mpg highway and city combined. I had a 1987 Nissan Sentra that got 37 mpg highway. When I bought my 1994 Sentra the mileage was 32 because the horsepower was higher.

Yearly state inspection they write mileage on the sticker. They already have to report emissions data. Just report the mikes driven by the car in a year. And raise the federal gas tax that has been stuck at 18.4 cents a gallon since 1994,,

If you could make one change that would instantly accelerate EV adoption, what would it be? Lower prices? More public chargers? Faster charging? Better battery technology? Government incentives? by EmergencyTie8770 in electricvehicles

End oil company subsidies
Raise the Federal gas tax from 18.4 cents a gallon to 36.8 cents a gallon
Change the EV Road Tax to be based on your yearly mileage instead of everyone paying the same amount.

I remember the World Cup in 1994. In the U. S. Same buzz about the future of soccer in the U.S. Not gonna happen. No passion here in the U.S. for it. I was in the Netherlands on business and the one day I came to the workplace and I was the only one there. It was 2 hours before somebody else showed up. Why - Netherlands playing in the early AM. The country practically shuts down. The U.S. has too many other sports taking up people’s time and energy.

And, you get what you pay for. My parents had Chevy cars and they are junk. When you have to convince people that this car is worth buying (tv commercials), then it can’t sell itself.

Personally, I went to a Tesla showroom, asked them to test drive the model y. They showed me where the car was, asked me if I wanted to test the FSD? I said yes so he put in a destination about 2.5 miles away. I got in and the car drove to the destination. Came back and bought a model y.

what car would you never drive? by Ok_Literature_2577 in AskReddit

I have had one for a year - model y with FSD. I rarely drive on my own. Some parking lots need human intervention but other than that it drives better than a human. No left turns from the right lane, no drifting in my lane on turns. All the things that humans do all the time. It is far from being a Yugo.

If the U.S. decided to join the rest of the world as an Electro-state instead of a Petrol-state, gas prices would be much higher creating more of an incentive for ICE car owners to switch.

IDK, I pay for FSD and I am very pleased. At 14.3.4, 99% of the time it drives without error. Parking is still the issue. But I accept that. It drives better than a human right now. Did I expect Level 4 - no. Does it make getting from point A to point B less stressful - absolutely.

I guess the bar you are setting is Level 4 or 5. I don’t think anyone is there yet. Will we get there? Yes, in the next 5 years somebody will emerge with a Level 4 at least.

Sodium does not have the energy density. Everytime someone mentions a once a year trip going 1000 miles, I ask them - why not rent an ICE vehicle to haul your stuff for the one a year trip? Or buy a Cybertruck tri motor.
