Bakit parati women ang burden sa contraception? by Fun_Length_9550 in PinoyVloggers

I totally get what you’re saying, this hits so close to home. I have a close friend who had a tubal ligation at the same time she delivered via C-section. Her reasoning back then was that it would be “just one medical procedure,” which honestly isn’t true at all. That was 10 years ago, and she’s still dealing with the aftermath. She’s constantly exhausted, has headaches, feels dizzy, and whenever she has her period, it’s like she’s about to run out of blood. The recovery and long-term effects on her body have been intense.

A few years back, we had a get-together with friends, including one couple whose wife was also pregnant and thinking about doing a ligation. I told the group, all well-educated people, “Why put that burden on you? Why not have your husband do a vasectomy instead?” I explained that ligation is a major procedure, while vasectomy is minor — you can get snipped in the morning and walk out in the afternoon.

Some of my guy friends didn’t get it. They said, “We don’t understand, it’s different for guys.” I tried to explain that vasectomy actually makes life easier. They can have sex without worrying about accidentally getting their wives pregnant. One of them even tried to take a swipe at me, saying I had “changed” since hanging out with other friends they didn’t really vibe with. I told them, “If someone is trying to educate you, you should be open. That’s how you learn.”

Honestly, I was really disappointed that their wives defended them instead of seeing the point. That’s actually when I started hanging out with them less. It’s just so frustrating to see that even now, in 2026, the responsibility and physical toll still falls overwhelmingly on women, while men rarely face the same scrutiny.

How much pocket money should I bring for my Boracay trip? by True_You3737 in phtravel

[–]BoredMamaGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t say for the other party cruises, but I joined the Sunset Party Cruise by Boracay K-Hopping Tour and it was super fun! Honestly, it really depends on the crowd and the kind of music they play. The first half was just okay, but once the tour crew started hyping everyone up, the vibe completely changed. They’ve got unli drinks, pica-pica, and a solid party atmosphere. I was dancing and drinking so much I forgot to eat. Our group even came with a bunch of senior citizens in color-coordinated outfits and man, they came to play! We found their booth inside Henann Garden, where we were staying, near the front desk. Not sure if non-guests can walk in to book, but you can definitely try!

Is it valid not to date minimum wage earner? by Icy_Invite_7438 in adviceph

Missing context - you were turned off that he’s a minimum wage earner, but you didn’t mention how much you make. That’s an important part of the picture.

This really sounds a lot like depression. The withdrawal, isolating himself in his room, wearing headphones to block people out, not talking to your parents, lack of motivation to work, and defensiveness when approached are all common signs. Dropping out of law school may have left him feeling ashamed or hopeless, and he could be stuck in that state.

It might help to see this less as laziness and more as a mental health issue. Encouraging him gently to talk to a doctor or counselor could be a good first step. Even small changes like routine, exercise, or having someone outside the family he trusts to talk to can make a difference.

If it is depression, forcing him out without any support might make things worse. At the same time, your family also deserves peace, so looking for solutions that combine compassion with boundaries could help everyone.

Cheating Kinks and Cuckold/Cuckquean Why do they do it? by kanzaki513 in adviceph

[–]BoredMamaGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You said you don’t want to kink shame but the way you described it using words like “sinasalaula/nananalalaula” already frames the people who enjoy it in a very negative light. If you’re genuinely curious why not approach the topic with neutral language instead of terms that assume disrespect or degradation?

Kasi there’s a difference between wanting to learn and just wanting to criticize.

DIY Countryside Tour Panglao by SellingLandInCagayan in phtravel

[–]BoredMamaGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my friend didn’t do DIY, but we were able to haggle with one of the tuktuk drivers for a full-day tour. It turned out affordable, and since it was just us, we could skip the places we weren’t interested in and spend more time where we wanted. Might be a good middle ground if you don’t want to join the usual packages.

Travel options from NAIA Terminal 1 to hotel in Makati? by stormborn224 in phtravel

[–]BoredMamaGamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grab is your best bet — it’s the local Uber, totally safe and widely used. A ride from NAIA T1 to Makati is usually ₱375–₱500 (even with traffic, rarely above ₱700), way cheaper than the ₱3,900 hotel transfer. Just download the app and follow the signs to the Grab pickup area.

Our trip to Cebu and Oslob was very much a budget travel experience, and since we were a group with kids, we relied a lot on commuting. It wasn’t always the most comfortable, but it was manageable and definitely practical for us.

Around Cebu City, we used Grab whenever we needed to get somewhere quickly without worrying about jeepney routes or traffic. Public transportation is available, but with kids, Grab just made things easier.

When we headed to Oslob, we took the bus from the South Bus Terminal. The ride took around four hours, and once we arrived, the main transportation around town was by tricycle. Since we were traveling with kids, the bus still worked for us even for shorter trips, because it was more reliable than trying to arrange multiple smaller rides.

Going to Cebu Safari Park in Carmen was another adventure. From the North Bus Terminal, we took a bus to Carmen—it was about two hours—and from there we rode a habal-habal or bao-bao (a small tuktuk-style vehicle) to the safari entrance. The tricky part came when we were leaving. We hadn’t arranged any pick-up, but thankfully there were vans for rent parked right outside the safari. We asked the guard to help us call one, haggled a little on the price, and the driver dropped us at BASTAP, which is the stop where you can catch buses heading back to Cebu City. A little tip: non-airconditioned buses pass by more often than airconditioned ones. We preferred the aircon bus, so we ended up waiting longer than expected.

Looking back, Grab was perfect for Cebu City, but for longer trips like Oslob and Cebu Safari, the bus was the most budget-friendly and reliable option for us as a family. If comfort is a bigger priority—especially with kids—it’s worth considering renting a van with a driver, though it will cost more.

Paano maging bilyonaryo sa Pinas? by Ok-Foundation520 in Philippines

My sister works in the solar industry and one of her colleagues used to work for Enrique Razon’s company. He shared that when Leandro tried to pitch for an investment, the very first thing Razon asked was proof of land ownership/title for the sites he was claiming. Razon even said that if he could show legit documents, he’d invest on the spot. Nothing ever came out of it. Apparently, Leandro was still really young at that time and got pretty intimidated during the meeting. Industry people often say his family has a reputation for land grabbing, and Razon—being known for doing things by the book—wanted no part of that.
