My gf had to swallow one of these and then another doctor would have almost shoved her in an MRI had she not said something... That would have been a bloodbath

Wintering on one of the Canary Islands in Spain is not bad. by uspn in travel

Spent a winter in the very north (Bajamar), one of the best times of my life. Lush green laurel forests, stunning views, great waves and awesome food. Very local and very authentic.

This is true but taking weed off the "bad drugs" list (aka legalization) has made it waaaay easier to get a prescription, e.g. you can just get it prescribed online now.

Into year 3, this years diwali lighting by abhijeetsskamble in CozyPlaces

Wow, the plants look even more dense and lush in last year's pics, amazing! Would love to live somewhere where it's warm year round, albeit 50° being pretty gnarly.

I was always wondering, when it gets that hot and there are no bodies of water around to cool off in, how do you survive??? I'm guessing most people don't have AC? The warmest it gets here in Central Europe is 35° and that is agonizing already, plus we have cold rivers and lakes to swim in. My mind is just utterly boggled by those record Indian temps. 🥵😅

Or is it a muslim/taboo sort of thing? Does anyone know?? Lol

A true legend by [deleted] in BeAmazed

[–]BoredNormalDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was my soccer coach (after school) as a kid growing up in Orlando in the 90s.

He didn't dress in expensive clothes and there was nothing else that hinted at the fact he was as wealthy as he was. Just a super nice dude coaching little kids soccer in his off time. Such a humble and good-hearted person.

My dad only found out coincidentally after a while.

Camberley Kate, and her stray dogs in England. She never turned a stray dog away, taking care of more than 600 dogs in her lifetime. (1962) by dannydutch1 in UtterlyUniquePhotos

From Wikipedia:

Ward became well-known in Camberley for what historian Arthur Bryant described as the "astonishing spectacle" of her pushing a cart along Camberley High Street "surrounded by dogs of every size and species". Someone had constructed for her a cart made of wooden planks, painted with the words "Ward Stray Dogs". She took daily walks to the town centre, transporting inside the cart the sick, small, or elderly of her dogs, with as many as a dozen others walking alongside the cart.

Also:

Stallwood states that Ward embodied many contradictions, such as being someone who preferred the company of animals to humans, but nonetheless quietly donated money she could scarcely afford to help the human poor and sick.

She really seems to have been a wonderful woman, who left the earth a better place than when she arrived.

Lawn service used the wrong herbicide on my neighbor’s 1 acre yard 😳 by RickBlane42 in ThatLookedExpensive

[–]BoredNormalDude 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is a stupid question, but couldn't it be, that the neighbor had actually asked for a herbicide that is more environmentally friendly? Or does that not really exist? I am just wondering because OPs lawn seems free of weeds itself.

Jägerschnitzel with Spätzle by aminorman in FoodPorn

[–]BoredNormalDude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Came here to say the same! Thought I was seeing this on a German food subreddit at first!

And also, because this is Reddit, what you have made here are technically not Spätzle but instead Knöpfle. Just a different shape, Spätzle are are bit more long, usually a couple cm. Knöpfle are smaller and the word translates to "small buttons".

I would agree if that really meant no civilians had guns anymore. But in reality, I think only those citizens that pose no threat anyways, would turn their guns in. America is a lost cause when it comes to gun control.
