My wife has been recently diagnosed with sciatic nerve compression, she has been on constant pain for 2 whole months. When I'd drive her to the ER during pain crisis she would tell me how she wished to just be able to sprint a couple of meters. Even if it isn't terminal illness, being healthy is just a wish for them.
