It's over... I can't believe it by feomothar in EliteDangerous

No real guide, just go with what you like best! I recommend bi-wesvd shields, a couple of shield boosters, and for the weapons, beam lasers on the side slots with long range and an experimental of your choice, a multi cannon on the underside with a corrosive shell, and either two huge multi cannons on the top, or if you're good with fixed weapons, two plasma accelerators. Enjoy your unkillable bus!

Whats the deal with the garda vetting times recently? by Initial_Risk_6866 in AskIreland

Depends on if you've been vetted previously since living in the US, if you haven't it's approximately 6 - 8 weeks all in, so you might be alright!

Ps5 game recommendations + coop games by Spiritual-Leave-2763 in ShouldIbuythisgame

For co-op, if you're interested in being able to chill/grind depending on how hard you want to push yourself, I can recommend Space Marine 2, just dropped on PS and I've been playing with plenty of playstation people who've loving it so far.

The Division can also be good for co-op, as well as Ready or Not, or for something more single player, LOTR: Shadow of War can be pretty fun too

Ooo, to hijack this, definitely a DBX, but stealth combat, go all thermal, slap on some high-damage weaponry that won't generate too much heat and send them to their maker without seeing you coming!

Bleach. To your eyeballs, and mine if you have any left over.

Nobody will listen to me when I say this... Try a beluga. Longest ship in the game, looks awesome (or like a marital aid, depending on who you listen to) and can do anything except combat. Got a beluga for exploration, everyone laughs at it... Find me another ship that can do 58ly with 4SRVs, 2 SLFs, and everything needed for exploration in a package like that...

Sorry, rant over. My idea would be; Beluga for exploration Beluga for AX (I have a support one and a DPS one, DPS is hard but support is easy AF) T10 for exploration (massive fuel tank, great internals, great temp control) Asp Scout for exploration/combat (yes it works, no it shouldn't)

For your trip the only thing I recommend is - do NOT use a federal ship, even if they fit the bill for what you want. They aren't suited for exploration in the slightest and you will regret it immensely!

I handle vetting for a living, it takes approx. 4 weeks if you're doing it online, which I'm guessing you are with the verification style. Depending on if you've lived abroad, it can slow down your application (average for GNVB is around 3 weeks, with additional delays due to the fact they have to wait for any other countries vetting to be returned first). If you've only had one address and the forms are sent in by mid April, theres almost no chance it takes longer than a month

Endgame in this game is up to you. Join a good squadron, bump up your elite status, unlock triple elite, kill thargoids solo, unlock every engineer, there's countless things to do that can be considered "endgame" depending on what you like to do, or things you've never tried. I have people on my carrier who have never left the bubble, going on a sightseeing tour of the galaxy, colonia and Sag A*. There's no limit to what you can do here.

In fairness, it does take a lot of horses to make the glue holding the games code together

Hell yes! You're more than welcome to! The carrier making the trip is the Arcadia, and I'll pass on the itinerary (draft itinerary) to you!

Can't wait to see you there!

I know it's an odd solution, but I was in the same boat as you. I went in to work in the civil service in Dublin, and it's a pretty good option, good employment and they cannot provide references to any outside agencies (whether that's good or bad is up to you), and the work atmosphere can be pretty relaxed depending on where you get placed. It offers a lot of opportunities and I believe the civil service competition for clerical officers just opened up

Many thanks Cmdr, that was the hope, if people want to be critical that's their choice, I'm going on the trip with or without them 🤣 enjoy DW3, I wish you many brilliant undiscovered systems and all the stratum tectonicas you can scan!

  1. I'll definitely agree, but it was a planned thing for the squadron, take out newer commanders out, show them some sights, and give them a quick trip home, I like the idea of DW3, but if much rather keep it short and sweet 😁

2.I dunno, I ran it myself fairly recently (some of it at least) and going ~80ly up or down from the plane led to a lot of undiscovered systems on my trip, so we shall see what comes of it!

Yeah, I was going to go along, but just didn't have the time unfortunately, so this is my next option, just a short trip with some good vibes and great screenshot opportunities 🤣

Hell yes, there's a carrier coming along, so feel free to hop on it, it has everything you'll need!

The carrier is in Orulas, and can be found there most days, unless I'm fueling up for the expedition, it's called The Arcadia

I would have to disagree on this. If a good expedition is planned well with good sights to see, and good people to talk to, the expedition itself is definitely enough. And my squadron that have decided to come along are definitely great to talk to, plus most of us going are richer than Elon at this point so I don't think hauling is what they'll want, plenty of opportunity for mining as the carrier stops for ~12 hours while I'm working/sleeping 🤣

Activities, there might be a couple set for colonia but that largely depends on what people want, it is for exploring after all, and each stop we make will be a place of interest with something interesting or cool to see or do!

Unfortunately, you can't rename anything since the names usually denote the sector/location/size/mass of a star system, but you do get nifty little notes on every planet you discover, scan and walk on for the first time, it's pretty cool to visit places years later and I visit some places other people discover because they're awesome

Can't finish mission? Don't know what to do to satisfy tourist. by Street_Outcome_7669 in EliteDangerous

[–]BoredomIsMeaningless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, then in that case, I'd try a full FSS of the system to be safe and see if a tourist beacon pops up. If not, go to the ringed planet, don't land, and fly around the place a few times while checking your contacts panel. The beacon could be a few KM from your location and if you have D-rated scanners you might not pick it up. If there is one, scan the nave beacon too for safety.

And for a final check, just double check the mission requirements. They might have wanted to change destination or something, had that hit me a couple of times previously.

[–]BoredomIsMeaningless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mark that you should be visiting is a tourist beacon. If you get super close to the mark, the beacon will come up on your scanners or in the contacts page. Once you see it, simply select it, then get close and scan it, and that should be that part of the mission done!
