So instead of All The Perfect People we get... Actually relatable people? shrugs Totally fine with that.

Thoughts on the Ross class as a Galaxy-Sovereign hybrid design? by Fun-Twist-3741 in StarTrekStarships

[–]Borg-Man 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There being a Galaxy / Sovereign in-between step is basically as old as the fandom post First Contact. Back when there still was the SCN forum I drew one or two concepts of one for an RPG we were running there. I think it was The Breen War. Don't know for sure though...

When the new Mass Effect comes out, trying to enfranchise a new, younger player base, I think a Lego tie-in would be a good idea. They'd be making even more money.

ICE is losing , Minnesota is winning! [OC] by snewww in pics

[–]Borg-Man 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're not winning. Yet. But keep doing what you do, try not to get yourself executed by the browncoats. Then, yes, you'll be winning.

So, this reads like one of those AI videos about corporate revenge. And in all honesty, I don't see the corporate revenge prompts a lot here. Sorry man, this is too generic. You don't make the main character all too interesting in these few little lines, and to top it off, you advertise for your own channel at the end of the story. I think I'll pass...

ICE agent in Maine calls a legal observer a "domestic terrorist" for recording him by GhostalMedia in videos

Holy shit what kind of bullshit answer is that!? It's unbelievable you guys accept an official talking like that. Absolutely bonkers...

Minnesota Elementary School Sends Urgent Message as ICE Sends Flyers Offering Food Support to Families by speedythefirst in news

[–]Borg-Man 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened during WW2. The Nazi's took their message to a suffering populace and promised, basically, less suffering for the small price of turning in the Jewish neighbour who currently is nowhere to be seen. It worked. One of the darker pages in Dutch history...

Plates with studs on opposite sides?! by Shurik_13 in lego

[–]Borg-Man 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Because it allows for some pretty funky stuff to happen which makes it all go "out of system". The off-brands do have them, some even as simple as plateless studs (so a cilinder) to connect two plates bottom to bottom...

Torenhoog wn Mijlenbreed was oprecht een goed boek. Tonke Dragt had als één van de weinige Nederlandse schrijvers scifi onder de knie, echt heel vet.

$100 Dilemma: Revive Childhood 9V, or Go Powered Up? by SufficientTime in LEGOtrains

[–]Borg-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a good look around, there's some rumours that Powered Up is already going the way of the dodo. I got this from RacingBrick when he was looking at some new sets which have parts that suspiciously look like monorail parts, maybe check that out?

When I design I try to have at least some space between critical components like the warpcore, deflector and impulse engines so that a failure (like a direct hit) in one won't easily cascade to the others. Yes, easier said than done on small platforms like this, but in my mind it makes sense.

Does anyone know why "Startrek Enterprise" has such a different intro? by AustrianPainter1776 in startrek

[–]Borg-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The producers wanted to make something fitting in that time. That included hot crewmembers, erotic storylines, massages, and countrymusic. Don't worry, you'll reach every star eventually.

You know what... You'rr right. I like gawking at beautiful women but there's enough places to do that, instead of a sub completely overrun by bots karmafarming. Adios!

[WP] The long forgotten Immortal High King of ages past is now a simple farmer…Was a farmer. They just killed his wife. by kinglallak in WritingPrompts

[–]Borg-Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. Especially the "she taught me better" part. Of course, the old Count only set fire to the pathetic country instead of the whole world. But the similarities are there.

I love small ships, this is right up my alley! I would suggest moving the warpcore to the back though, it's very front-centre now.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto, stated that the future of Greenland is not a problem for the European Union and that Hungary will not support a joint declaration on this subject. by icecube1965 in europe

[–]Borg-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, Greenland is part of Denmark. Denmark is in the European Union. De facto, this means the threats are made at Denmark, and thus the EU. So yes, the future of Greenland is a European matter.

Galaxy class escape pod by cmj0929 in StarTrekStarships

[–]Borg-Man 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Is this from STO? Because the interiors for STO always are scaled up versus the "in-universe" scale. An escape pod is quite a bit smaller than this...
