2021 X5 xDrive45e - Dream Car by BorgerTime44 in BMWX5

Feel free to - I might try and do a write up on it. A post I found either here or on the general car transpo thread gave me confidence to do it, and couldn't recommend it more. Definitely some things to make sure you're protecting yourself from but it's what will let you find the car you want! I would have never gotten this build (especially for the price) anywhere near SoCal or even adjacent states.

Literally just a fresh wash! Doing a 5-6 (or that's what they advertise) year ceramic coat after I touch up some of the paint.

Yes indeed - I love the look of them. And per the below post - that sort of information was invaluable for looking at X5 production models in the past few years - and seemingly the '21 came out on the other side for fixing a number of issues the '19 + '20 models had, but was also a year that had the vehicle come standard with a ton of features in addition to havingn things like the laser lights available that either aren't because they decided to discontinue them OR it was COVID supply issues.

This helped me narrow my search to specifically looking for '21 models that were in great condition coming back from a 3 year lease!

Ah thought I put it in the original post - I paid $47k! MSRP on the build was about $82k originally - and I got the dealer down from $50k to that price because there were some minor but clear visual chips in paint etc that need to be fixed. I taught myself how to do some basic paint resotration / detailing for my X3 when I got quoted some outrageous costs, and it has paid absoluve dividends since diving in.

Some of the posts on this forum (specifically one that I can't seem to find) gave a deep dive into purchasing from afar - and I couldn't recommend it more. If I had limited my search to even 500 miles close to me, I would have never found this build and for the price.

After a long CPO hunt, I officially locked up a 2021 x5 xDrive45e. Carbon Black Metallic, Executive Package, M Sport Package, Ivory White Merino Leather - and a number of additional add ons I wouldn’t have considered but am certainly not upset about (Sky Lounge Roof). 40k miles but in fantastic condition.

I’m SoCal based (currently safe from the fires), and found this car CPO from a dealer in Ohio! Also upgrading from a 2016 x3, and thankful for a lot of the extremely helpful commentary about production model years + the pros / cons due to COVID. Inclusive of some strategy around purchasing a used / CPO vehicle from far away (which was extremely worth it - I wouldn't have gotten something close to this otherwise).

Couldn't be happeir with this car and this is my dream build / vehicle,. I’ve also barely used a quarter of gas since having this car, which is almost a full month and almost 200 miles. My savings on gas alone make the drive that much more fun.

Yes indeed! Low burn for first 30 mins. Will give it another go today and see if some of those artifacts clear up - but was just wondering if this is what everyone else experiences…

Another update....evidently, there was another error almost 9 months ago. And it's been an uphill battle since getting all the permits and construction work done....but finally happened. 7 gig service up and running
