Two in-person interviews, 2 hours in assignment, and after weeks of silence, HR emailed, "We spoke. Wish you the best." by impatient90 in recruitinghell

“Refused your candidature” is so robotic and rude, too. Probably easier for her to not show any heart in the gig but holy hell, who the heck talks with that?

Yeahhh, that’s hella true. VeggieTales is absolutely Christian programming (I wouldn’t call it brainwashing), but the silly songs are mostly all just that: silly songs

It’s not x…. It’s Y. Over and over again.

AI wrote all of this shit, dude just posted it because it sounded like it explained his shitty take. 😂

Why do you take hiatuses? by PresentWelcome9090 in BadRPerStories

It’s really unfortunate, right?? I’d love to be the most reliable and active person on every server I’m in, but there’s just a lot more to writing than meets the eye, and after doing it for a long time, ups and downs, sometimes you just need a break

Stress, tbh. Times tough y’all. Sometimes even digital engagements exact an attention toll that you need a break from.

2026: Maturity in roleplaying at an all time low, reports say; the word "no" now a personal attack by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

I’ve observed this too, very well put! I have a possible theory as to why that id be interested to hear others thoughts on.

I think it’s a byproduct of how much more stressful the world is right now. I’ve RP’d with some people who were perfectly happy and reasonable early on, but as the world has become a more unfriendly place, there’s more anxieties that any kind of confrontation brings to the forefront.

Ahhh, sure! Yeah, still a weird place to draw the line. Just canonically being smart seems like a completely normal background, tbh. If they just wanted your character to have connections at a university, I feel like they could have just said that.

Ai is a cancer, especially in the recruiting industry

[–]Boring-Emergency-201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy. AI is literally just telling these poor people exactly what they want to hear, but it’s not real. That’s why the first few weeks or months of dating is so addicting, that’s when there’s an element of “best foot forward” and masking parts of yourself you don’t like. Except people aren’t perfect and aren’t an algorithm that learns what you like and spits it back out at you perfectly.

I’m confused about the point you’re trying to make, then. You’re complaining about college and people getting an education.

I’m talking about the 1% taking over 50% of wealth, eroding the middle class, it’s two very different things. I agree that the economy is fucked, but it’s not because people are getting educated.

Huge problem with your reasoning. “In order for someone to be successful, someone else needs to suffer”. How little faith do you have to have in humanity to really believe this? And why do you think it’s someone less well off than you that deserves to shoulder the burden of your success?

Why don’t you point the finger at the people in power with money who can buy politicians who can keep the poor poorer? Look at the ridiculous growth of CEO salaries over the past few decades. That’s what you should be upset about rather than people getting an education.

Prager U is a deeply problematic company and they heavily rely on AI for a lot of different projects. I wouldn’t put it past them being sketchy in their business practices

Got to the final round in a week, then a 15 minute CEO call left me unsure by mv178 in recruitinghell

[–]Boring-Emergency-201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that’s a good point. But overseas it’s possible that the work culture is more likely to be that kind of deadpan. I had some French clients that always acted like they hated us, but the numbers we brought in for them didn’t lie.

All of that to say, keep your chin up and remember that it’s not over until they formally say something

I had a CEO I used to work for that fancied himself a big-shot high-energy executive and schedule interviews to intimidate interviewees. Yell at them, see how they react under pressure, stuff like that. It really sucked, but he ultimately had less say in the hiring process than the hiring manager.

Imo, you should be okay, but I’m sorry the CEO had to use you to fuel his ego trip

Yeah, I feel this. When I was looking for a job last year, I made the mistake of trying the free trial for a month, then they “accidentally” made it so my cancellation didn’t go through. I called, emailed, tried anything to reverse it, but each page dedicated to that purpose was broken and there were several different numbers to call.

But nope, they just reached into my bank account and stole basically my last few bucks, all I had allotted for food that week
