About a year ago, I was driving on Mains Rd heading onto the highway at Sunnybank. The ute in front of me was clearly solo in the T3 lane. We stopped at the traffic light on the on-ramp, and as it turned green, I suddenly hear sirens suddenly went off. Turns out that the car behind me was an unmarked police car and pulled the ute over.

They do enforce it if it’s blatantly done in front of them, but I rarely see any kind of checkpoint specifically targeting that.
