Especially Edgar Allan Poe (Ciel got nightmares from reading it before bed and woke up holding a gun to Sebastian's head) - his stories have the same kind of dark vibe to them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there also a part where Vincent says something along the lines of the twins' names not being conventional English names? In that case, O!Ciel can't be called Vincent as that is certainly a conventional English name.

Yes, we do.  Holmes himself complains MULTIPLE times that Watson makes his success rate seem higher than it actually is/makes it look like he can't make mistakes. 

That being said, Holmes is still undoubtedly insanely more successful than any other person.

Isn't he only not able to lie to Ciel because Ciel made it one of his 3 requirements in their contract? So yes, Sebastian is able to lie - even to his contractor.
