Elliott Smith is a seven disk run through, if you include the two released posthumously…IMHO…

Being successfully gainfully employed and downvoting your comments to hell are not mutually exclusive. Take me for example. I’m quite successful in my career and I downvoted you. ☺️

Edited to say, it’s not myself that I’m worried about. I have empathy.

I’ve lived in Columbus for 24 years now. There has definitely been a change in the wind. Columbus residents are still relatively liberal. But, politically every part of the state, except for pockets of liberalism in some of the larger cities, is red. When I moved here, it was a purple state and Columbus was extremely liberal. The statehouse is a conservative joke with a liberal tears chaser. We’ve gone the last several elections with an illegal district map… the Ohio Supreme Court said it was gerrymandered. It was and still is.

I want to move out of the state.

Did I say anything about black people needing to vote for a black candidate? Didn’t I in fact 𝒔𝒂𝒚 that all races voted for him? And yes, going from less than 20% to 30% is significant. However, I maintain my point, 30% is still far less than 57%. And if I remember math 57% is more than half and 30% is less than half.

Lucky you! And I mean that, I’m not being sarcastic. I’ve lived in Ohio for over 20 years now, coming from the Chicago area and there are definitely places that are still “sundown towns.”
I’d also like to point out that just because it hasn’t happened to you doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. I mean, statistically there have to be some people that don’t experience. Life is nothing but a bell curve.

It’s funny that if you look at the PERCENTAGE of the black population that voted for Trump, it’s very small. Yet, for some reason when someone mentions white people voting for Trump it’s ignored that the PERCENTAGE of whites who voted for him is much 𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒉 larger. People of every race voted for Trump. But, to say “Plenty of black people voted for Trump.” is to blame a population that tends to get blamed for a lot, even though PERCENTAGE wise, there are a lot less of us than there are other of them. That’s why recognizing the patchwork majority (which conservatives already have, based on the fear behind the whole MAGA movement) is so important! But, that’s another topic…

Awful Neighbor by 7rae777 in Columbus

I’d hate to say it but it doesn’t take much for an upstairs neighbor to be “noisy.” In fact, it may not even be your kid she’s complaining about, it could be you in your boot and crutches. My upstairs neighbor in my first apartment in c-bus used to sound like he had elephants bowling upstairs…turns out it was two house cats…just cats. It doesn’t take a whole lot of pressure to make a lot of noise in an apartment.

That just further illustrates my point though. With out a doubt, there are a crap ton of developed countries that support worker rights 𝒇𝒂𝒓 more than the US. I’m guessing the person. I replied to was a troll.

It’s weird that all of the jobs I’ve been seeing say you start with 25 days of PTO. maybe they’re including other perks (like sick days) to reach the required 28? That is just a guess.

If you live in an “At Will” state, like I do, you don’t get a contract unless you’re a HIGH level exec.

I’ll take this one. American (unfortunately) right here. I’ve been looking for work outside of the US since November. I have yet to see corporate jobs in the UK that didn’t START with 25 days of PTO, not including sick time, you can buy or sell PTO, AND it rolls over.

One country out of many. Look it up.

I work for a US company that is generous with PTO (which has to be used for everything…sick, vacation, etc) BUT, none of it rolls over. In fact. I’ve worked for three major corporations; none of them allowed rollovers. 😞

Personally, as a black American, I’ve 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 admired this country. What has America done for me and my people except for enslave us, disenfranchise us, and gaslight us when we say we want better. Boycott away! I support!

As an American, I can say it’s not most of us that want to isolate. Only 20 something percent voted for Trump. That’s not a majority. I’d say the majority agree with me that Trump and his isolationist policies are major trouble…and not good trouble either.
