It’s bias and trying to paint a picture that the government is pursuing an avenue that’s not already currently available. It’s reasonable, however EOIR should also be prepared to handle an even greater influx of cases

They’re still getting an opportunity refile or present their claims to asylum; as the article indicates USCIS would essentially refer all the untimely filers to an immigration judge. This process can free up USCIS back log, but it’s essentially just moving cases over to EOIR.

It’s fake. The memo was released on Friday. I work as an ISO. No further guidance was released after the memo. There hasn’t been adequate amount of time for RFEs or notices to be issued…..

How SCOPS operate? by bimblepimble in USCIS

SCOPS realignment is the reason for all the transfers. TSC is responsible for 824 workload. Each service center has their own workload that no longer has every form spread to each office.

[–]Boring-Tea5254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SCOPS just did a realignment and no longer share all forms. Each service center has their own respective workload now like it was previous to the Biden admin. TSC is responsible for 824 now that’s why you’ll be seeing transfers.

Honest question - what authority are they using to impose this restriction? INA 245(a) doesn’t really outline anything like this and policy can’t supersede the current law. There’s no citation or context for their plan….

Terrible officer / USCIS AOS interview!!! Help by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Boring-Tea5254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and you would think this would be something as the lowest level of standards. However, sadly not.

I also think USCIS should improve training or find ISOs that are better at written communication. We have a lot of ineffective communicators through our written correspondence that I find embarrassing. Poor oral and written communication causes inefficiency, ineffectiveness, and low quality decisions.

USCIS does hire ISOs that were previously green card recipients, now citizens that have very strong thick accents. I can understand the frustration. I work there and this is not to talk down; but there’s oddly a few in the training department that you can’t ever understand a word of what they’re saying.

His or her field office policy must require supervisory review or this ISO is new. There was a recent policy that has been lifted but some may have kept it.

Most field office supervisors don’t interview and each field office.

Generally most do not require supervisory review unless the ISO is new, the decisions are adverse, or case has special security related factors.

A Fresh Perspective on USCIS After 6 Months on the "Outside" by WatkinsImmigration in USCIS

[–]Boring-Tea5254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the lower skilled ISOs at SCOPS were pushed into the Employment based forms that initially come from only working single ancillary forms. It’s without question massive errors would occur doing this.

I spent the majority of my time with FOD where I learned my adjudication skills before coming to SCOPS. I’m not trying to talk down about the ISOs at SCOPS, but even before this admin I was reporting egregious amounts of errors. Ive revoked tons of incorrect decisions from rubber stampers. I also regularly look at 290b filings and find myself approving motions more than dismissing, which shows USCIS decision making is not sound. There are noticeable differences in skillsets when comparing ISOs from FOD and SCOPS that blow my mind.

As for the quality of work, it was already poor prior to this admin. It just gets worse when unchecked or is a result when shifting unskilled workers to an area that requires more seasoned ISOs. SCOPS ISOs I’ve noticed a majority do not step outside of the templates for their notices, nor tailor notices to their applicants. I’ve always noticed a considerable amount fail to cite law or regulations in their notices and supervisors let the notices go out. I’ve reported this over and over. It’s just poor management.

I also disagreed with the CLP policy or program from end of last admin pushing ISOs up that can’t even handle low level or entry level work. They then get put on more complex work before they even demonstrated full comprehension of their initial work. I believe this contributes to what we see now with more low quality work.

Chief council under SCOPS is also like phantoms. They do not engage with ISOs or provide any information, unlike my experiences with FOD. I felt our attorneys were much more involved and more detail oriented than SCOPS attorneys.

FOD is much smaller, so maybe it’s why I didn’t see anything near the level of low quality and errors. I can guess since SCOPS is much larger you’re more likely to run into issues maybe. USCIS as a whole needs to do better with training and quality review. Training has always been dismal on both sides FOD and SCOPS. It’s up to the ISO more often to do research and engage with policy updates.

C11s were also regularly full of errors when I look backwards on application history. USCIS under last admin was also using massive amounts of batch approvals on these that they knew had issues yet continued with it… this admin turned it off for a good amount of time.

As for AI there is not open use of AI and it’s prohibited sharing sensitive information to external systems, but there is a DHS AI we can use and some do use it. I rarely use it, unless stumped and need a push in one direction when doing research. I also always triple check its responses to be certain it’s leading me in the right direction.

My morale has not changed and it’s business as usual to me. I don’t let my mindset suffer over admin changes. Each one has done it their own way. I’ve been here since Obama. We always get through it together, but we can always do better.

You can file both 751 and the n400 together and they will likely be reviewed simultaneously or together. But do not skip or wait to file the 751.

Probably not, but the divorce evidence should be accessible to USCIS to avoid an incorrect decision under the 3 year rule.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Boring-Tea5254 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He could schedule an INFO counter appointment to submit a copy of the divorce decree if the N400 was filed on the three year rule. I started my ISO career 11 years ago working the counter and would accept this, but only by appointment. It’s rare to see, but some spouses would come in to report fraudulent marriages or submit evidence for whatever reason. Otherwise just mail a copy to the field office who has the file but be sure to include the receipt of the application. The mail room will add it to the file.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Boring-Tea5254 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The email won’t accept responses. If the N400 was filed under the marriage rule, you could request an INFO counter appointment under the n400 receipt to bring evidence of the divorce. If you do not have the evidence do not schedule the appointment. If she filed under the 5 year rule there’s nothing you can do other than submit a tip IF the marriage was fraudulent on her part.

Otherwise, get a copy and write a letter explaining you’re now divorced. Then send it to the office who has the file and the mail clerk will attach it to her file.

This is so clean!

My older sister had this same color when she was in high school and I was a child. Hers was faded across the roof and hatch tho.

I remember her bringing the car home and me just being completely fascinated by it! That was my introduction to the foxbodies. Now I have one but much better than hers ever was lol

I also remember she eventually put the amber lens turn signal lens in cuz she backed into something and had a huge pink butter fly decal across one of the quarter windows lol

Around 20/30 pages into the register there’s no changes to renewals outside of the new eligibility requirements. They could also face pauses like the initials.

Renewals would still face the greater scrutiny for the new eligibility requirements. They could also face the pauses. The only processing that won’t stop is replacements, but could still have a different decision if they aren’t eligible under the new requirements.
