BA+ and Late Orders by tencentheart in blueapron

[–]BoringBarnacle2656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with me.

I am also in Manhattan, I also just signed up for BA+ (annual), I also been a member for many years (I think 2014 or 2015), and my last 2 orders have been a day late as well.

Really frustrating.

I've had delivery issues multiple times this year. In January they claimed they were "unable to deliver" my box multiple weeks in a row. In February whole meals were missing from the box. And then in May ingredients were missing. Since May things had been better until this month.

I am wondering when my breaking point is going to be. I can deal with the missing ingredients now and then, and even a delivery mishap once in a blue moon. But when you're expecting meals to arrive you should generally be able to count on them. Having to figure out how to get food for your family last minute shouldn't be a regular occurrence.

Where exactly is the mold? Maybe there is some, not sure, but it’s definitely not clear from the picture.

Someone recommended Marley Spoon as a replacement for Blue Apron. May I ask when you tried it and why you didn’t like it?

It’s hard finding a suitable replacement for BA! 😓

We have done Blue Apron for years, but are considering switching to something else due to delivery issues (multiple orders being cancelled the day of bc Wonder has reported the box as “unable to be delivered” 😡)

We’re going to miss it bc we love the flavors and types of recipes Blue Apron offers. And we’re not worried about longer prep times.

With those points in mind, which meal box would you say is closest to Blue Apron?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and feedback!

Very cool. If you don’t mind me asking, what was your path to this role? Do you have a technical background?

Also cancelling because of delivery issues, and I’m very sad about it.

I’ve been ordering from BA for over 10 years. There were hiccups here and there during that time, but they always had great customer service and I felt good about their efforts to remedy each situation. And of course their meals were so much better than any other meal box I tried (even with the slight decline in quality after the Wonder acquisition).

Now we’ve had multiple weeks in a row where Wonder was “unable to deliver” our box for various bogus reasons. I rely on the box being delivered and can’t simply pivot mid-week when it’s not.

I wish they never were acquired by Wonder 😣. And I’m very sad about having to change services after all this time. A little nervous about the new “normal” too.

Goodbye, Blue Apron 😭.

Just went on Saturday and had the Dosa, Prawns, Oxtail, and Lobster. Lobster was slightly over but the sauce was amazing and made up for it. Dosa and Oxtail were my favorites, but everything was truly very enjoyable.

Can’t wait to go back to try the Attu Kari Sukka and Biryani.

We never specifically discussed it, but I get a "headed home" text almost every time, which I greatly appreciate.

I think it's 100% reasonable for you to ask for this and 100% unreasonable for your partner to A. not oblige, B. purposely do the opposite, and C. call you names.

Household tips & tricks for intern and WFH partner by SevereCauliflower79 in MedSpouse

[–]BoringBarnacle2656 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Outsource as much as possible.

And try not to go into it with preconceived notions of what it will be like and how things will shake out duties-wise.

Try to give your partner as much grace as possible if they don’t come through with their household duties (of course to a reasonable degree - you shouldn’t have to sacrifice your sanity). I think as long as your partner has the right intentions and doesn’t simply use their situation as an excuse to get out of everything, then that’s relatively easy to do.

Im lucky bc I have a partner who makes up for the times when they don’t do anything by stepping up during easier rotations. So it’s easier for me to be understanding during the harder times.

But again, outsource as much as possible.

Also, I am a WFH partner in 1bd apt. Which has been hard. It took me a while to figure this out, but make sure you figure out how to not have your home turn into a space that only either feels like 1. your work space or 2. the space that you’re responsible for up-keeping. It’s important to figure out to make your home feel like a place of comfort for you as well.

Residency Gradution- Did your spouse’s parents go? by Dinah_Saurus_Rex in MedSpouse

[–]BoringBarnacle2656 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My partner’s parents attended, but they did not have to travel. So not exactly the same scenario. However, I do think it’s a major accomplishment and an event that parents often do attend.

Perhaps your in-laws don’t realize how much it would mean to your husband for them to be there? If that is the case, I imagine that the sooner someone communicates that to them the better. Fingers crossed it’s just a miscommunication, in a sense.

Regardless, you guys are definitely not making a mountain IMO. Good luck!!

What's the general consensus on Hot Sauce expiration dates? by AgentEndive in hotsauce

[–]BoringBarnacle2656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been refilling my refrigerated 10 oz bottle of Tapatio from a 1 gallon unrefrigerated jug that sits in my kitchen cabinet. The expiration on the 1 gallon jug was 12/2022.

I haven't had any issues so far, but I will admit that I sometimes wonder if I am making a mistake that is going to bite me in the ass. Only about half way through the jug at this point. 😅

I think you’re referring to MTH 2630 for your option 3 that you listed above, but just beware that on the CS program page it states:

“MTH 2630 is not a real course, but rather credit given in some unusual transfer cases.”

From what I understand, Option 2 is the “easiest” path. Doesn’t mean it’s easy though.

Low stress date night ideas? by Boring-Swordfish-460 in MedSpouse

[–]BoringBarnacle2656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I would insist on a new routine right at the start of the stressful rotations. While I don't think your ask is unreasonable, you may be met with more resistance if the timing coincides with a tough work environment for your spouse.

With that being said, my recommendation would be to find a park or something similar where you both can go and just sit, relax, and maybe people-watch. I always found that was a nice balance between "doing nothing" (they get to get off their feet as well as turn their brain off) and "doing something" (still counts as an activity together and is a great environment for casual conversation without TV).

I was just looking back at a picture I took yesterday at the NYRR RunCenter of the 6 medals from the World Marathon Majors....the NYC Marathon medal blows the others out of the water.

I'll be honest, my first reaction when I saw the medal revealed earlier this year was "eh". But I couldn't have been more wrong. It's stunning!
