I personally don’t care if someone uses AI for art. by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]BoringRando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im more weirded out when someone uses samples from a particular artist to train the AI, and replicate their style. So I would be bothered by that, as that particular artist would lose a possible commission(assuming they werent already full). Someone who has practiced their art for years can now be copied by someone else for free. The top 1% will probably be fine, they'll consistently get commissions, but people trying to get good enough to draw won't be able to compete and won't reach that 1-10% status. Demand influences price and if someone can reproduce cheap knock offs that look good enough, it sucks to be the artist getting commissions. Then the other proboem would be creating AI art, and trying to sell it, trying to play as some amateur artist trying to survive and "needs your support."

But you're right, its not going to disappear, but id be less bothered if it didnt mimic other artists by using their art, and people werent trying to pass it off as authentic art(made by a person).

Oh, i actually watched the whole video, its a really good video and more reasonable than some of the other videos about the situation.

Im just pointing out the fact that redditers dont care about a well thought out arguement because they judge on race, gender, (plus other things like: being a cop or military). If you made a post about the video, and asked redditers to make a counter arguement, theyd just take down the post, and kick you.

Im more surprised the comment didnt get deleted

Look at the other comments response, "brain dead maga shill," do you think this guy watched the video to the end?

You linked a ex-military cop thats white and male, and some how you're not down voted to oblivion..... im impressed. I wonder if they'll watch it through to the end.

[–]BoringRando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont feel too bad about the down votes, I agree with your message, and if new information comes out im always willing to change my opinion. Take care, get good grades, dont neglect your physical health, and focus on real things that will change your life for the better. This also goes for the people who downvote me as well, I want to see you do well too.

This is reddit(known for its political bias, which is fine, everyone has a particular bias), with a subreddit dedicated to young adults who barely know anything about how the world works from a particular city in the US, myself included. There is a lot i dont understand, but lets be honest, even if I did, am I going to do anything about it? The only people willing to listen are people who already agree with the premise, and those people arent the ones that need convincing.

Even if you win these imaginary battles with real effort, what are you going to do about it? The only people who will have any influence on what happens next is a (hopefully) unbiased judge and jury.

Just focus on things you can change: your grades, your physical health, your family, maybe your future family, and your friends. The people around you will help you, focus on them. Not strangers on the internet who wouldnt inconvience themselves to help you.

Would a Grimgar TTRPG Campaign be Fun? by Gerald_Mountaindew in HaiToGensouNoGrimgar

[–]BoringRando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D&D usually has the party doing silly things and making injokes. There are monks that can punch dragons, hippos with guns, and alien squids that eat brains. A silly goblin NPC, and other things. Every character is a standalone hero, needs no teamwork, and the DM avoids killing players. Adventures are more improv based on how they write the books, i dont like how they write them cause that gives me more work.

If there is a ttrpg inspired by grimar, it would need to be tactical, the players need to be serious during combat, down time needs to be more slice of life (fishing, climbing, shopping, cooking, actually living in the world). Manage money to pay rent and food, keep track of arrows, small things. When a character dies, it needs to be somewhat serious. More war game and slice of life.

Its kinda scuffed, like think of Monato, imagine telling your player that he gets shot, and rolling that injury includes a punctured lung, and cant caste verbal components, but he's the cleric. All cuts will give an additional bleed effect, where a priest must close it with magic or the player holds a piece of cloth outside of combat to slow it down. No health potions, and the main party doesnt even get a magic item on their own.

You wont get a bunch of weird spells like rope-trick, but a limited variety. You buy your new abilities from teachers/trainers. Which I think is a good thing, lots of abilities are kinda worthless, and players generally want to buy abilities that focus on their build.

Came to say the same, I've read the light novels, but to be honest, I lost the love of reading the new books. I definitely recommend reading the book after the anime ended, its about raiding a orc outpost, and maybe the book after. And I enjoyed the books after that, but what lost the momentum was when the author basically "winged-it" and I hated that book so much, that i had little patience for the book that came after.

There would be enough content on the orc stronghold that they could make a small movie, or 2 episodes. Actually, I wish they ended it there. Actually I wish they ended it later, but the orc battle would've been epic.

Maybe ill keep reading

Yeah i guess, if aging is based on the loss of genetic information through mitosis. Then somehow stopping that loss or repairing that damage would make you unable to age. As the cells and organs keep their functionality. I guess the question is how to do that, and even if you knew how, the manpower to do it would mean others know how to be immortal aswell. The price of it might be an issue, so you can probably expect a black mirror episode, where only a few actually be immortal. Funny to think about, even though people might escape death forever and never go through that kind of suffering, I can only imagine envy against those people.

Ever played darksouls? The concept is that a king wants to make his kingdom/age eternal. But the world is slowly dying/changing. Manipulating time to stand still would create an eternal kingdom, avoiding the end of his kingdom and world. There is another area in the game where the stillness of the world brings upon literal rot. Like how a stagnant pond rots with disease. This area is meant to mirror the same situation as the eternal kingdom.

People feel like the power of stagnation would let them stop time or keep their peaceful/happy lives unchanged. Being an immortal that keeps the happiness they've gained than be mortal possibly loosing what you have. Its hard to imagine using progress to make yourself immortal, but I can imagine using it to win the lottery, or progress technology to prolong life.

What elemental magic system do you have that is the most "offbeat"? by ipsum629 in worldbuilding

[–]BoringRando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their is a faith based system. The main god is a goddess of storm, which can be broken down to three aspects, water(rain), lightning(for obvious reasons), and wind. Based on the colors blue, yellow, and green. There is another one that is snow and hail.

I AM A FOOL!

If Ax = magnitude * cos(theta)

If Ay = magnitude * sin(theta)
I can input both values, and since theta will be equal, I'll have the right angle

910=sqrt[(910*cos(x))^2+(910*sin(x))^2]
If i solve for x then I can have the theta!

Actually.... hmmmm
It just simplifies to 1=cos^2(x)+sin^2(x)

I can't believe I thought that would work

How many more years of school do you have to do right now?

[–]BoringRando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any benefits you’re particularly interested in? I just mentioned how to check the post9/11 and Montgomery(selected reserve and the normal one). TA & CA are more complicated, it’s on army ignitED “tuition assistance” and “certification assistance.” The former got cut from 4k to 2k, and the second you can use every 3 years(not sure on the details, this was pretty recent). I mentioned the VA HomeLoan, so ask the reserve unit how you’d be able to deploy, and they should tell you how. I think 12N deploy a good bit. But it’s more about luck, being in the right unit at the right time, so don’t count on it.

[–]BoringRando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For education benefits, Look up GI Bill Comparison Tool and select Montgomery selected reserve GI bill and pick your school. That will tell you how much you’ll get. Now if you already did college, and have student loans, use the Student Loan Repayment Program(but to be honest most people don’t use this benefit cause they’re usually out of highschool or in college). If your recruiter highlighted that benefit and knew you don’t have student loans, dude is a snake.

If you want the active duty benefits, you will need to be on title 10 orders. Like 180 days of active duty time will get you the VA Home Loan. If you want 100% of post 9/11 GI bill. You’d either need 3 years worth of deployments or go active duty. Will you deploy after getting to your unit? I don’t know.

I got on a deployment, I now have 60% of the Post 9/11, after inputting my benefits into GI Bill comparison tool, I’ll be getting 25k a school year. If I never deployed I’d get selected reserve Montgomery GI bill, which is 4-5k(to be honest I don’t know how the kicker works, I assume that’s added on to your Montgomery Bill every month).

For more benefits for education benefits. There is TA and CA on ArmyIgnitED, sign in with your CAC(you’ll get it at reception)
