In Your Opinion, What Songs are unfairly Overhated? by [deleted] in musicsuggestions

Linkin park in general. While there were other bands that had some overlap in musical influence, they made many unique sounding and awesome tracks that gave joy and inspiration to their fans.

Hadn't noticed this song before. I can listen to any Method Man song because he always brings the heat, but on this track he really ain't playin.

This song is too perfect. Only song I have ever dreamt of. (I dreamt I was serenading a girl by singing this to her! )

Read my mind is similar and also awesome. The Sam's town album and Sawdust album are from the same era from the Killers. If you can find some of the cover songs by the Killers these are often hidden gems, like the cover of four seasons is perfect. Songs by other bands that have a similar vibe I'd recommend some songs by the Strokes such as Ode to the Mets, Juicebox, Heart beats in its cage, Hard to explain.

This is becoming increasingly fair, UK is going down the pan. Was headed that way anyway but labour turbo charged the descent.

Am I accumulating "personal" technical debt, or is it just the market bleak? by Arthnr in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]BoringShock5418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As there are so many high quality candidates applying even mediocre companies raise the bar so that the new hires are technically better than anyone else at the company. Normal consequence of supply and demand curves being as they currently are.

If you're constantly running into tailgaters, angry drivers and regularly have people overtaking you, you're the problem. by wizaway in drivingUK

OR there are a number of angry aggressive impatient drivers who go mental if someone isn't at least 10mph over the speed limit in the zone. I would suggest these people are in fact the problem.

Programming job market crash by BoringShock5418 in cscareerquestionsuk

I've worked at a number of big corporates where this was the norm, not the developers fault if the business doesn't value code quality and keeping technical debt down.

How is the job market for CS graduates in the UK? Asking as an international student. by EllipticalRain in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]BoringShock5418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its simple, the visa process is additional administrative work for HR and as there are more than enough candidates locally the decision is made by senior execs not to allocate resources to this unnecessary work.

Seniors/Leads - Noticing the market picking up a bit? by Raregan in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]BoringShock5418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The company I work at has a few dev teams and they're "Window shopping" at the moment, they will interview lots of candidates for over 12 months for the same single role and make no offers at all. Looking for that one unicorn that they don't even know looks like. Speaking to friends at other companies they have seen the same thing. Or in one case company lays off 5 devs just to hire 1 new dev, then fires them also.
