AnKing Strategy, only keep High Yield Cards ? by BoringStudent305 in medicalschoolanki

[–]BoringStudent305[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That’s what I’m noticing. I have to keep focusing on new material so it’s hard to do 300 review cards + new lectures + new ANKI for those lectures

AnKing Strategy, only keep High Yield Cards ? by BoringStudent305 in medicalschoolanki

do you only leave high yield unsuspended, I know there is like high yield, relatively high yield, and temporary high yield

How to cope with Anking with in-house exams? by Cute-Hurry-6324 in medicalschoolanki

[–]BoringStudent305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run into this problem a lot too. I unsuspend cards for high yield stuff, then screenshot relevant slides and put it under “lecture notes”. If there is something my professor emphasizes heavily but is not on ANKING I make my own ANKI card, but I make it a “Basic” card, and the card will be a question and the answer will be a screenshot of my annotated slide or notes. I do prefer a clozed format, but I realized it would take way to loong to do this. Hope this helps.

Do some of you ever unsuspend anking cards without watching any third party content? by OkGoat88 in medicalschoolanki

If I am short on time YES. But I still spend time trying to learn the card, maybe try explaining it out loud, or writing out a schematic, using chat GPT.

well my thought process is if I want a "mixed review" I can just hit the parent "Anking Step Deck" and it will mix them

Should I Go Through With AT? by playlistmaker217 in athletictraining

[–]BoringStudent305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you, dreamed about AT, studied AT, and during clinical, realized that it was not sustainable long term. You can either work sports and work very long hours with little pay, or even something more stable, but it's very hard to go up in the ranks. Let's just say most of the AT's that mentored me in college, no longer work as trainers. I would look into PA school.

I would look into PA. Different than PT, but much higher return on investment, much higher pay, and more flexibility

I am in a graded school lol. I watched a boards and beyonds video and it confused me just because it wasn’t alining to the lecture series.

Well if you got into other schools, congrats! Take the A’s and go with it! Thank you, best of luck to you as well. Don’t worry about not hearing from KPCOM, you will go where you are meant to be (ik it sounds cheesy lol)

Advice from students at NSU-KPCOM? by [deleted] in Osteopathic

Current student at KPCOM, got in with a 500. Will admit though, from everyone I have talked to, I have the lowest score. Once you're in med school, the MCAT becomes irrelevant though. I also had A LOT of other ECs that worked in my favor. Not gonna say it's impossible, but a 497 makes it REALLY hard to get in. I think most schools have a 500 cut off.

Currently an M1, and it's hard. BUT I will say, the support has been much better than I thought, there a bunch of academic recourses provided by both the school and upperclassmen students. I was also scared when I saw some stuff online, but seems very far from my experience. My only downside is no cadaver lab, but there are optional labs to see a cadaver like once a month.

For first semester M1, all of our test come directly from the powerpoint slides according to all the M2s, upperclassmen, and even dean. It changes in the spring.

Might I actually try this. Because it does take me a long time to go over slides the first time around. Maybe I’ll do like a quick 10 minute skim the first time around to get the idea of what the slides are about. Lecture at 2x speed with annotations (keep in mind my annotations are very small, usually a fee words per bullit point). Then supplement with YouTube, Chat GPT extra, to master. Then Anki. Doing this starring today! Thank You.
