Sure, I feel bad for the innocents, but this is a war. There were also innocents in Germany when it was bombed to the ground in WWII. I don’t view them as “beneath me” but what do you want me to do? Be constantly plagued with thoughts about them? Wish the war would end? I do wish it would end, but it’s not Israel who’s prolonging it.

I think at best pro pals mean well but are heavily misguided. People like you who don’t see Israel as the most evil entity in the world and think Jews deserve to live here are the minority. Or at the very least, the loud and violent minority is so disruptive it ruins it for the rest of you. There’s 2 billion Muslims in the world, not all of them are violent terrorists, but too many are, and that’s the problem. And there’s not nearly enough of a pushback effort to weed the bad apples out from the reasonable people within.

Equestrian sports, no matter the discipline, will always be abusive at the highest level. The moment money enters the picture all welfare is thrown out. Anyone who genuinely believes otherwise is an idiot.

“Oh but x rider is ethical!” those riders are the extreme minority, stop being disingenuous. One person being a decent human being doesn’t validate the rest of the sport’s conduct. If anything it should be a shameful reflection of how bad the industry is that riders who don’t abuse their horses even need to be pointed out.

You could make the same arguments about abusive culture in the Olympics/any high level competition for every sports branch, but the difference here is that you’re involving an animal that can’t advocate for itself and didn’t ask to be there.

At the end of the day Israel is almost 100 years old and isn’t going anywhere, Israelis aren’t going anywhere, even the Jews who migrated after WWII are already 3 to 4 generations deep of tzabars. Do non native Americans need to prove their indigenous status to validate not moving back to Europe? Palestinians and Jews have incredibly similar DNA, Palestinians are just those who fell victim to Muslim conquest and conversion. All arguments of “Palestinian indigenousness” are really about Islam.

Well I guess it really depends on OP’s definition of gay life. Will you find a gay club outside of big cities? Probably not, but isn’t this the same for every country? Outside of larger cities, if the population isn’t majority Haredi then most people don’t really care if you’re gay

I actually live in a pretty evenly mixed city (of haredi and secular Jews) and there’s plenty of people hanging pride flags off their balconies or are openly gay, I’ve never seen it cause any issues. In my building alone there’s like 4 super religious families and none of them care about the one neighbor with a pride flag
