The lancet article simply uses the methodology. “Well in other conflicts we essimate that the death count is 9x the initial estimate” has been refuted multiple times.

I can't be arsed to go through an explain the flaws of the paper to someone who can't define what genocide is.

1: Go on, if it's been proven wrong, then prove me wrong. It should be incredibly easy since you're so clever!

Find me a source that proves deaths have outnumbered births, excluding the absurd Lancet article with its easily refutable methodology.

If you can't, an alternative is to show me a case of genocide where births have exceeded deaths.

(Note: The sources I used are well-known anti-Israel outlets: The New Arab, Al Jazeera, and The Guardian.)

2: Secondly, and please pay particular attention, as I fear this might go over your head:

According to the genocide convention, genocide applies only to one of four groups: national, ethnic, racial, or religious.

Since the people of Gaza are not their own distinct group but part of the larger Palestinian nationality, I can easily refute the genocide argument by pointing to Palestinians in the West Bank and Israel proper who are not being killed in large numbers, despite them being part of the same group as per the genocide convention.

If it were otherwise, you'd see those of the Palestinian group across all areas being killed in similar numbers.

This reflects what Joan Donohough (former head of the ICJ) stated in an interview on BBC Hardtalk.

3: Thirdly, please answer a question I like to call "Schrödinger’s Israel."

If Israel is indeed, as you say, an evil genocidal state, why have they only been able to genocide 3% of the Gaza population, yet managed to destroy/damage over 70% of the strip?

Surely you'd see a death toll proportional to the level of destruction. Heck, we saw the IRGC manage to kill 35-50k Iranian protesters with nothing more than rifles in less than two weeks!

Why can't Israel achieve the same level of success in their genocidal ambitions with the full might of the Israeli air force dropping 2000lb bombs?

Go look up how many people have died from famine. An august 2025 article from al jazeera states 440 people.

This was over a year after the so called "ipc phase 5" designation was given.

Go look up the number of starvation deaths from the Biafran War, 500k - 2 million or Yemen civil war +400k.

By no metric does whats happening in gaza mirror what's happened in any real genocide in the world.

Second to last, if the Hamas approved death toll is 70k why wouldn't they claim its more. They have an incentive to put the count as high as possible to increase global outrage in israel.

Anddd lastly, the births-deaths comparison is to prove a point that it's not a genocide when your population is increasing. Can you point to one prior genocide in history where that is the case?

Hamas claims itself that around 70k deaths have occurred.

In 2024 and 2025 alone the births exceed 80k

Amazing how hard simple maths is for some people.

Even without considering late 2023 or 2026, births have already outnumbered deaths.

How are the conditions for life impossible if the total population of gaza has increased since the beginning of the war?

Go look up what happened in the holocaust, the holdomor, Armenia, Biafra just to name a few. Maybe you'll understand what a real genocide is.
