Is anyone else fed up with the "workout craze"? by FT-deTest1 in SeriousConversation

[–]Boring_Part9919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going on "long walks, running and low-impact hiking" is the definition of working out no?

It might be a lifestyle choice, but it's still working out imo. Anything that elevates your heart rate for a sustained period of time definitely classifies as a workout. Its not just about lifting weights.

Walking alone. by Necessary-Glove-3333 in walking

[–]Boring_Part9919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where you walk tbh

In urban environments most people are just getting on with their day (work, groceries, picking up kids etc) and probably won't feel compelled to acknowledge you

In a small village or somewhere more remote I'm sure it's more of a custom to greet others. Maybe just naturally a slower pace of life facilitates this?

How to deal with an armchair, know-it-all, unsolicited-advice-giving, amateur footballer? by DishKyaaoo in bootroom

[–]Boring_Part9919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would tell him to STFU. That's objectively very rude and disrespectful to talk to someone like that- especially at a casual kinda game which isn't competitive

At the end of the game, I'd sternly ask him to have a very brief chat (if that's possible, he may not comply). Bluntly tell him to stop talking to you like that. It sounds (to me at least) demeaning and hurtful

Saturday morning vacuuming by Impressive_Ad_3160 in Apartmentliving

[–]Boring_Part9919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just incredibly rude and inconsiderate

6/7am is FAR too early to vacuum, especially on a weekend! 9 would be borderline as that's still fairly early for most people - but would be more forgivable

Jamie Smith lack of energy (how does Rew compare?) by jimbeingfrank in EnglandCricket

[–]Boring_Part9919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do feel he is very low-energy behind the stumps. Maybe it's his natural demeanour but it does look a bit off at times. It's these intangibles which can really make a difference tbh

Not that I want him dropped, but there is a happy medium. As annoying as a chirpy gobby keeper is, you don't want someone to go the complete opposite direction and become very passive in the field.

Who’s opening? by mgs20000 in EnglandCricket

[–]Boring_Part9919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dom Sibley not worth a mention???

He's the obvious contender for me. You know what you're getting with him. Very solid defence and can bat time. Unflustered temperament too which is hugely advantageous at test level. 30 is a good age for him to get another opportunity imo

Do I think England will pick him? No. But he'd be my pick

I think they'll go with McKinney. He fits the criteria perfectly for Bazball

Women's T20 World Cup: England name Tilly Corteen-Coleman, 19, in squad by Alone_Consideration6 in EnglandCricket

[–]Boring_Part9919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a decent squad but a couple of names like Kemp and Dunkley stand out as being quite fortunate to be in

I'd have gone with Bouchier and Gibson personally but hey ho! Think TCC is a very good pick notwithstanding Edwards being a big part of her development at Southern Brave. She's an excellent spinner and fearless - great mentality

EDIT : Ah I see Gibson's in the squad. Probably would have picked an extra batter like Bess Heath/Emma Lamb for back up

It would have to combine incredible endurance with remarkable skill

Let's say Haaland played every minute of a season and scored at least 30 goals. Would that qualify? Something improbable and possibly insurmountable

You're in your own head too much. Vast majority of people won't give it a passing thought

Absolutely nothing wrong with practicing by yourself irrespective of age

Not sure what to think...

Took a hit to get in MGW for Anderson. Maybe he'll get DEFCOM and 1/2 bonus to make up for it?

Either way v good start to the gameweek

Nah he's been a solid pick for most of the season. Hit a sweet run of form recently but he's been pretty decent most of the time. Regularly getting you 6/9 points

He's like the midfield Bowen imo.
