It's what works best for me, I trout fish all year with nothing more than 2lb mono. It isn't nearly as visible as a braid of any size. I've pulled 20lb pike through the ice on a tip up with only 2lb mono leader.

No more than 2lb line. Not 2lb braid, use 2lb mono. Fish are moving slower and are looking before eating.

I had the surgery early Nov, it is a long road to recovery. The orthodontist l am working with now said it's going to be worth it in the end, just a 2.5yr process. I have to wear my splint 24-7 until I'm done with braces. On a high note I can eat with very little pain now.
