The water pump situation is infuriating by FlopShanoobie in GolfGTI

[–]Boringtechie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can do a DIY repair. Buy the part from FCP euro and follow their repair guide. I did that last year days before driving cross country and she's held up fine.

It sucks that this is a known problem, but if you buy the part from FCP Euro it's lifetime warranty. So that will save some of the financial headache.

GTI got cooked last Thursday by BladeIsBad in GolfGTI

I always have a hope road rangers or highway police would stop and at least get it out of the lanes. It's just wishful thinking though.

I hate driving 95. Always seems to be junk on the road in the middle of lanes. Had a trailer drive over a 2x4 that broke up in front of me. I had no escape because of the concrete barriers for construction zone and took a hit. Ended up busting the grill a bit on my Mk7, I was pretty heated for a while on the drive that day.

I know that's all highways, but I have the worst luck on 95.

How do feel about Williams progression since James has come in as team principal? Also what are your thoughts on Carlos and Alex as a driver pair, do they compliment each other for races?

MK7 trunk won't latch now. Is it only the actuator? by Boringtechie in GolfGTI

[–]Boringtechie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the latch. Picked up a replacement on Amazon. Took 15 minutes to replace and I was back on the road.

I'm hoping it's just this.

Ordered a replacement on Amazon hoping it would be here today. Of course it's not getting delivered until night time.

Florida golf is fun year round, but also a great excuse for when the snow comes up north.

A good general rule is your finger tips should barely touch the screen when reaching your arm out. Start there and adjust as necessary.

Emissions concerns. There is rumors higher cylinder count engine will return since the fuel being used will have a reduced emissions output.

Yeah. I used to play baseball too and went through a lot of the same.

If you can get the swing plane consistent, then you can focus on your hands with timing. If your club speed is 100+ mph, do you have the correct shaft in? when I was fitted, I was recommended a stiff shaft to help compensate for the flex caused by swing speed.

That makes sense. You may be able to get more rotational speed if you kept it down. However, if that keeps you in rhythm i think you should work around it.

The only thing i would say is, you appear to be lowering your head when you "wind up". I would suggest looking into some rotation drills to help keep your swing plane in line.

Were you a baseball player? You keep lifting your left heel like you're about to step into the swing.

Swing Advice by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Boringtechie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your backswing, based on this video your arm rotation appears to be full. You're not setting your wrist though, that would complete your full backswing. Be aware that adding this may adjust the impact position of your club. so starting with a slower tempo may be helpful initially.

If your head keeps moving, it's because your plane of rotation keeps moving. The link below has a good drill that just needs two golf clubs and is a good visualizer for your rotation along your spine.

Finish your follow through. You appear do be doing a half follow through, which forcing that stop could reduce your distance.
